i'm surprised that there hasn't been any talk about this major event yet. http://www.newyorkcityconcoursdelegance.com/index.html since there is a Ferrari-only day, i figured i would check the f-chat forums for rumours of what's being shown. any news on expected entries? ***************.com will be there in full photographic force.
Looks like a great event, but I think for the most part the folks on Fchat are drivers more than lookers and with a $30 admission fee it will probably hold folks back a bit. Not that $30 is a big deal, but why pay to stand around and see what you can see while you're out driving amongst friends? Just my .02
Yes. How many registered members on Fchat? And how many of them own a Ferrari? If you know the stats, let me know.
When did I say that? R_Clements said the show is for Ferraris only. That's why I said maybe there is not much response because many do not actually own one.
Only one of the three days (Friday) is Ferrari-only. There's a pretty good guest list for the show too. Some high-profile car guys will be there. Alain de Cadenet is the Master of Ceremonies, and Phil Hill will be one of the judges. I'll definitely be there, I'd suggest going if you've got the time.
I'll Be there!! Its sounds like it will be a great event and the gentlemen Thomas Hamman who is the Chairman has put a lot of hard work into this show so show up. I will be there along with my partner to support Mr. Hamman as fellow Co-Founder's of a Concours we run ourselves. I am very eager to see all the super ferraris and also the MC12, are they all going to be there? I just want to take some good pics of those cars. I don't want to pay $30 to get in, then finds out that all i can see are 360s and 550s which I can see tons on the road everyday back home.
I actually might be able to make after all. I am supposed going into the city to see my aunt again and mr. kalikowhis week but I dont know exactly what day. So I could be there. I'll let you know when plans are confirmed.
umm.....lets see....I dont call him or anything like that, but my aunt know him personally and he invites me to come into the city sometimes and veiw his cars. So we do know each other. Anyway, I'm coming in next weekso I wont be able to make the concours because my aunt has alot of people coming in from out of town and is busy. But thats all right- there will be other times.
Here are a few photos I snapped from the first day of the New York City's Concours d' Elegance. The setting was very nice and had some great cars from all over the country and even out of the Country. Also Audi is the feature sponsor of the Concours and Audi displayed the new Audi SUV's there. This is the first time Audi has had these cars in the U.S. They arrived just in time to be seen at the event. I had the pleasure of getting to talk with Alan De Cadinet and Derek Bell. Such cool guys!!! Also Phill Hill was here today and will be judging both tommarrow and Sunday. Even though Sunday is only Ferrari & Lamborghini day they still had a good array of Ferrari's. These same cars will be here tommarrow. The show was well worth it and the forecast for this weekend is supposed to be great. Enjoy the photos. Evan C. Sweet. I'll introduce myself if i see you tomorrow or sunday. What time did you go? It doesn't look busy at all.
Oh I meant to mention the busy part. I went towards the end of the day like 4:30 ish. I heard earlier in the day had a pretty good attendance. Saturday and Sunday will probably be a lot busier. I will not be there both days unfortunately. Take some picture for me! Hopefully we have the pleasure of meeting at another event. Enjoy
? How will we know who to look out for? Feel free to pm me the car if you don't want it publicised (sp?). Chris
