I'm taking my girl into the city for Valentines weekend, I want to be close (preferably walking distance) to the major sites like central park, times square, rockefeller center, and anything else that might be fun to check out. I've only been to NY once and briefly a long time ago and didn't have time to check anything out and I really don't know anything about what to do in the city. Any hotel suggestions? My budget is ~$300 a night for a room, so I found The Plaza was way too much. Any other suggestions of fun things to do?

    Thanks in advance!! :)

Certainly a carriage ride in central park is a must.

there was also another one where you submitted a poem about your love & if you were one of 21(?) winners, you received a carriage ride, dinner out, and a Broadway show or some such. But the look on your loves face knowing you entered a poem about her ..... priceless :)
