Next saturday I will be leaving Long Island to go to the Reading Concours that is bieng held on sunday. My car will be in a 24 ft
enclosed trailer, pulled by a Ford F350 pickup truck. I need to stop in Manhattan for about 4 hours on Saturday and am wondering how to safely park this rig. Are there any lots that would accept this size vehicle hitched together or separated?
Obviously safety is crutial. Any ideas?

If you're in the city early enough there is plenty of free street parking depending on where you will be..... or you can park in an easy spot and cab it. Where will you be going in Manhattan?

I need to be in the Theater District but can park anywhere. Where would be the best place to look for street parking on a saturday afternoon?

That's a tall order on a Saturday, unless you're there at the crack of dawn. I don't know of any garages that would take something that big. An outdoor garage perhaps. As far as the streets go, take a ride anywhere up 1st ave, the earlier the better. You might luck out.

Theater district is where I live (57th & 9th), I park on the street every week night and all day/night on the weekends. Parking is fine there and if you go closer to the west side HW you should be able to find plenty of street parking to fit both you and your truck. If not there are plenty of out door parking lots on 11th ave down around the 40's. You should be able to find street parking up in the 50's though and it will be free as apposed to most likely $100+ for a truck and trailer. Otherwise you can always come down and park by my work (Manhattan Motorcars) where there is also plenty of street parking until 10pm.

Try www.iconparking.com. They may be able to set you up with a reservation. Worked for me but I just had a big Yukon that wasn't pulling a trailer.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Matt, your idea about parking near Manhattan motorcars sounds good. It will give me a good excuse to spend some time checking out the showroom. I think I"ll try calling some of the private lots also just to see.

Look for an outdoor lot and give the attendant $20 extra and he will give you all the room you need. Seemingly full I have seen these guys move other cars to the sidewalk to make room for a premium paying guest. It's worth the money...no compromise for peace of mind.

look to park downtown as the world trade center area is devoid of activity on weekends. Otherwise look for parking on the outskirts, either near the west side highway or FDR on the east side.

This might be too late.......but I have a hook up on 45th street/10th ave that I could arrange for you. You could park a winnebago in this lot, no worries...Im good friends with the owners, so they would just charge you 15 bucks...maybe free, depends how long you need to leave it there
