I know someone in New Rochelle, NY who could help out with inspection...I took my car there in November and it was a '95 also.

Greg what are you looking for. Do I assume you just need a normal NYS inspection or are you looking for a specific emissions inspection. The emissions stuff is normally verified through the OBDII connector . The process is simple where the tech reads the Vin number bar code and plugs in the OBDII connector. Links up with the NYS database and reads the CPU status. If all is well then you pass emissions. If not then you need to fix the code that failed. Ferrari is not unique in this inspection. I usually plug in my scanner prior to getting the inspection just to verify if everything is OK. Buy the way I got a buddy who does my inspection so I have never failed . I'm 60 miles north of you and it's a nice drive up the Taconic Parkway. Good luck

if its a 95, im pretty sure its a "safety only check" theres no need for a dyno, and your not plugging into the OBD port which i also believe is OBD I in 1995, So if you take it to a place to get checked out, they would most likely do a visual inspect of the outside and thats it.

Greg sorry , John is correct. OBDI started in 1985 and ended in 1995. OBDII was started in 1996 model year cars. I don't believe you need to get an emission inspection for any car with OBDI in NY. I assume that you only want to get the system checked to see if there is any problems. In that case there would be a different scanner for Ferrari. So if it a normal NYS inspection then you don't need to go to Ferrari but if you want a emissions check you need to go to someone with a Ferrari OBDI scanner. Sorry , I didn't read it correctly.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. Unfortunately, it does have to go through the dyno process which is incredibly stressful to witness. I was hoping to find someone with a friend that does them so they would take special care...

I take my 95 355 to my local getty station in gt neck, long island- the owner has been doing all my inspections- the only problem is with one of the tests where because the engine idles at high revs he had to bypass something.I am not sure exactly what he did but he always finds a way to complete the test for me.

Greg are you concerned that it won't pass the emissions part of the inspection?

i dont understand why they make you go through dyno testing. Unless you had an emission problem, even still, you shouldn't haven't to go through dyno testing. I have my NYS inspectors license and i don't recall ever having to do that.

If you want to come up to westchester, check out B and A Motorsports in Mamaroneck, NY. Ask for Anthony. He does all our inspections, as well as for many club members with exotics. Lots of experience, and very gentle with customer cars. (914) 381-2468
