    All,

To continue with the O/T theme, I have a questions about parking on the Wharf for those of you who know the area or drive in there regularly. For thos of you not familiar, apologies.

I'll be working in the area for the next 3+ months and will be driving occasionally. I've parked in Westferry Circus but its £22 a day which I dont want to pay 2-4 times a week. What are the alternatives? On the days I drive, I'm unlikely to get there much before 8.30 (I'll be swimming before hand, so cant get there earlier) so Aspen Way (£7 a day) is likely to be full.... are there others within reasonable walking distance of Cabot Sq?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Jamie

Whenever I have gone to the aspen way parking area prior to 9am I have always got a spot, if after, generally I would hang around in my car and within 15 minutes a space would become available. Can't remember what an all day ticket would be at the waitrose end of canary wharf as I generally only need a couple of hours when visiting clients.

Que! In public areas, surely? Because in proper areas it's a bucket load more than this.

What about the multi-storey near the Aspen Way car park? Although I've heard of people getting cars broken into there.

I think Waitrose is a similar price to the other "safe" spaces around here.

You should probably have a word with the guys in the decent parking spaces and see if they'll do you a deal for a few months' use...

Not sure I understand you Andy, the canary riverside car park is underground, guarded, cctv, barriered and not public. Much less chance of somebody scraping your car than in a public car park. 5 minute walk to cabot square

There are two parts to the Riverside parking - upstairs and downstairs.

Downstairs (where the car wash is) also has general public parking. Upstairs doesn't.

100 quid a month is still cheap though. Do you have a website or contact number?

It was on the Barcap internal classifieds section, and the parking was upstairs - i.e residents parking

I used to rent a garage in Rotherhithe (2 minute boat ride, the 2 min walk from Canary Wharf) for 60 pounds a month. Boat is quite cheap if you have a travel card. I dont think they come up for rent much though.

Other option is on Marsh wall there is a carpark that charge 8 pounds per day (off Admirals walk I think its called). But I never used that for the Ferrari, but plenty of Porsches and the like in there.

Probably quicker than driving across town once the schools are back!

Thanks for the info chaps, I'll look around. I parked in Aspen Way again today having got there at 8.30 but I dare say that today must be about the quietest work day of the year!

As for doing a deal with one of the fella's, I was angling after that yesterday and the guy really didnt want to play ball. I'll try again!
