If you don't know why that's good news, I feel sorry for you. It'll be the first store in Texas, and the first one outside their core states of UT/NV/AZ/CA. It's under construction at Firewheel, will be open in August.

    WOO HOO!!!

I've heard about In N Out, but have never been. Is it similar to Mooyah?

I'm not a fan of Garland, but maybe you haven't been to Firewheel?

I can tell you that the Garland City Council was determined to not make the mistake they made when 635 came through town. Instead of warehouses, they put up new retail and housing. It's actually a pretty nice area. I don't want to live there, but don't mind going to movies or dinner in the area.

In N Out is similar in folklore as White Castle, etc... Big on the West Coast and darn good. I would wait for a couple of months after they open to eat there. The cooktops need to build up some flavor.

The Firewheel area of Garland is hardly an armpit.

How much have you seen of the area?

Drove through it last Thursday actually while I was out in the Lake Ray Hubbard area.

I will still hold true to my earlier comment. Nothing but cookie-cutter retail & entertainment. Its the only thing Dallas is good for.

Sound like you need to try the Bishop Arts area of Oak Cliff. Tillman's Roadhouse,
Hattie's, Eno's and some other great restaurant / bars. Then head over to Colorado Blvd. by Samuel Park for some great topo and historic homes.

As a Garland business owner, I'm just glad you're not taking up space at Hubbard's Cubbard.

    Carrollton ain't no jewel.

I'll stick to the mediocre means of entertainment I get in Uptown, McKinney Ave, & Plano's Shops at Legacy.

Besides, I know Carrollton is no jewel. This damned town is full of nothing but banks, churches, and Dr's offices. :D

I grew up in Carrollton in the '80's. It used to be nicer. The demographics, like most of Garland's, have changed over time.

I think that when many businesses in any given city "convert" to new businesses, but you can still tell what the old business used to be, it makes a city look blighted. (Ex: you see a building that obviously used to be a KFC, Pizza Hut, What-a-burger, or a McD's, but now it's a pawn shop, guitar center, or new type of restaurant that you've never heard of...but the tell-tale architecture gives away that it used to be another business.)

Firewheel is nice...don't lump it in with the "tote-the-note" car lots & tire shops area that is just down the road aways...

They must be expanding like crazy. Within the last year they have opened at least five in Utah. I try to go there once a week.

It could be where Wingfields is. Garland is lucky to get it.

Tell me about it huh... Well, it's a great spot to do an insurance job on your Italian if you have trouble selling it!

BTW... I can't think of In and Out Burger without thinking of the all time greatest comedy "The Big Lebowski".
