I have a Year 2000 Ferrari 360, recently the tickover became erratic and MPG down to well below 10...
When I connected the autoenginuity OBDII readr I get a constant 99.2% - 99.8% reading from the fuel trim sensor!
    Your advice please people

Can you find another word for tickover? On this side of the pond I've not heard that phrase...

Any chance the O2 sensor is bad. That failure is not uncommon but in my experience (which does NOT include the F360) the computer goes into 'limp' mode without the excessive fuel usage you experience.

No technology has replaced checking the basics, compression, ignition and fuel.

Any one of a number of components may have failed but cars run in exactly the same way, goverened by the same rules of physics as they always have and starting a diagnosis in the middle gets nowhere.

One of my mechanics comes to me with your question and does not have a set of compression numbers written down, I am going to show him the big square hole in the wall I call a door.

When I see an enginecode like that.
It seems a lot of failure on your reader,
you do have the bible version
    I would go nuts
Yes I would have a question

Ok - I decided to leave the autoenginuity reader as its not capable of reading the 2xecu's on the 360....
After using the car all week I found:

When engine at normal operating temprature: RPM's intermmitently go from 800 to 1,300. Sometimes it settles back to 1,000
Will post results of compression test soon as I have done it.
It sounds to me like its air leaking into the inlet manifold?
Is there any common air intake leaks in the 360 ?

Thanks Brian, always good for an amusing anecdote! But true as always.
