Thanks to feedback in another thread (thanks No Doubt), I'm convinced I need an OBDII scanner. Now the question is which one? There's some cheap ones for $30, hand held and just read OBDII. Others seem more 'future proof' and can read the new CAN interface. But I'm tempted by the PC / laptop software programs that claim to read data streams. Has anyone here used one of these to actually read data from a 355? Here's one for example:

    Thanks!

UConn Husky - I bought the INNOVA 1300c and it works just fine. I originally purchsed it because my CEL came on and I needed to clear it. Just be sure you pull the codes before you clear them... The problem I ran into was not having a codebook that provides a definition. Unless you have access to the Ferrari codes the OBD2 code reader is virtually useless, except to clear the codes and turn off the CEL.

BTW - I think I spent about $100 on the unit and there was a rebate from Kragen at the time.
