I have a check engine light and went to my local shop (not a ferrari shop). They couldnt read the codes with their handheld scanner but their bigger laptop based version read them fine. The codes came back related to the cats so we cleared them to see if they come back. They came back today - I plan to take the car in but wanted to clear the codes one more time before taking the trip to the Ferrari dealer. I went and purchased a new Innova 3100 OBD scanner at my local auto parts store. This was a model I saw on a previous Fchat post saying it worked fine. I hooked it up - no problem but it cant connect to the car running or not. This is the same issue the local shop had with their handheld scanner.

Has anyone seen this? The car is a 1999 and most of the threads say any ODB compliant scanner should work? This one is pretty nice - cost $180 or so. I plan to take it back and was hoping someone would tell me if another brand works better on the 355?

Nevermind. This was user error. Car wasnt supposed to be running when I tried to read the codes.
