    .....PENTA SUHR...........

: Mark is playing a Fender Stratocaster Fiesta Red maybe a ´60s Relic Customshop model. It could be a real fender strat from ´59-´63 instead of a copy.Fat distorted sound is Gibson Les Paul from ´59 two Penta Suhr guitars some acoustics and a Dobro.Amps is mainly Fender Vibroverb from´63 I love the sound of that one just hear it yourself on the song Sultains of swing. One Soldano amp and another fender amp from the customshop almost same size as the vibroverb and a Fender Bassman a very old one.Marks is using his thumb to snap the bass part and the next three fingers to the next srings using his fingertips instead of the nails.

Actually it's "Pensa-Suhr" which were made by Rudy Pensa & John Suhr although I believe they no longer work together. I know John Suhr guitars are still being made & demand quite a hefty price to say the least:

Oh, and I guess Rudy Pensa is still at it as well & his stuff still looks like the older models Mark Knopfler played:

The MK (Mark Knopfler model) is one sweet looking axe no doubt.

Fender also sells a Mark Knopfler signature model guitar now too. Although as with most "special" Fender products there isn't anything particularly unique about it other than a sticker of his signature on the headstock.
