I've been reading some of the technical forum posts on octane boosters, and am intregued by Tuolene (sp?). I have a club dyno day coming up in a couple weeks, and was wondering if an octance booster would give me any measureable boost in performance on the dyno with my F40. I currently run 92 octane from the pump.

Don't believe everything you read about tuolene....

go to racegas.com and put in the good stuff. They have a search engine for finding race gas distributors by zip code...

RaceGas.com has no option for my state (Washington). :(

    Steve,
If you add about 5 gallons pertank of 100 unleaded to your 92 you should see about a 35 RWHP increase. Here in Cali. there are a dozen or so 76 stations that sell it. I keep a 55gal drum at home for my convenience.

Luckily there are several stations close to my home that carry it. I try to keep mine 50/50 91 octane pump gas and 100 octane race gas.
I don't bother with race gas for any of the modern cars as the engine management systems deal with the normal pump gas just fine.

Why not make your own? 93 octane + toululene + acetone + ATF.

VP 109 unleaded is the stuff to use. Highest octane unleaded available. The 112 will ruin your O2 sensor and foul your plugs, quickly!

Xylene is more potent than toluene. I use it in my Typhoon (mixed with premium fuel of course). Xylene is typically 117 octane, whereas Toluene comes in at 114, IIRC. They cost about the same. When mixing a harsh additive like these, always use a lubricant. I use about 1 ounce of Marvel Mystery Oil for every gallon of Xylene I put in my tank.
You may also want to look into Torco race fuel concentrate. I have yet to try it, but have only heard success stories so far.

I think you are better off using a blend of race gas to pump gas. That will result in a better, safer and more consistent blend.
Of course I was told this by a race fuel engineer. Makes sense to me......

If race gas was readily available here, I would probably use it. Unfortunately, we get nothing better than 90 octane at the pumps, so to safely drive my truck at 22 psi or more, I need to mix my own fuel.
