Won't work anyways. Octane booster is all crap for the most part.

You need to buy real racing gas, or find a friendly avgas dealer. Both fluids which are illegal to run on the street anyways FWIW.

What you need is dished pistons and/or larger combustion chambers, and aluminium heads, to run max 10.5 -1 or maybe 11-1 compression on 94 unleaded pump gas.

    Sure......octane boosters don't work.

You're going to have to do what I previously mentioned.

    Well.......I am not a scientist or a petro-chemical engineer.

But Octane 130's claim to fame over the other octane boosters it is that it has "real lead".

Lead was in older gas as a valve lubricant.......not a power booster.

I have built (paid for, to be technically correct, as opposed to twisted the wrenches) several 500-600 + turbo charged engines, as well as many normally aspirated engines, all with laptop programmable ECU's. Adding off the shelf octane booster to 94 octane did nothing for peak power, in some cases it lessened it, and in most cases we had to dial back on timing and other parameters to prevent detonation. About as useful as "tune up in a can" IMHO.......

Going to my "supplier" and running a half/half mixture of 94 octane pump gas and 110 octane VP race specific gas in an 80 litre tank.......YEAH BABY !!

my espada has somewhere between 350 ans 380 hp so i am not looking for power increase just looking to smooth out combustion at lowRPM and prevent prermature combution without altering the timing. A crapppy burn gums tyhings up and according to Vintage Lambo owners in the US this solves that problem?

    Your thoughts are welcome

On a car as old as an Espada it could be any combination of other minor factors causing problems, not gas quality. Assuming you are even having problems right now, and you may not be, perhaps you are just be wanting to preemptive instead.

My "guess".....because that is all it is, based on my years of selling and paying the bills on old Porsches, is that something, somewhere, in the carbs/ injection system, fuel head, cylinder heads, valves, valvetrain, fuel lines, etc....is so old and now worn and subsequently has become the cause of the difficult to diagnose problem.

To wit.....take a 35 year old 911 with a very minor rough running problem at low RPM and a slight hesitation and or stumble.

Had a few of these where it turned out to be one of the slides on the throttle component of the FI was worn ever so much (1MM) and it was causing the whole system to go out of alignment and run like crap <1500 RPM. Previous owner replaced plugs, wires, gaskets, seals, gas tank, filters, etc, chasing the problem my tech found.

As KDS has said, the octane boosters in a can do not work and never have. He has already given you good advice blending Avgas or racing gasoline. The legal issues with Avgas are your problem. The old carb V-12s were never high compression in the first place. 94 octane (R+M)/2 is the same as rest of the world 99 RON.

If the issue is fuel gumming up then it isn't an octane problem but a lack of fuel detergent. You can use Chevron Techron or Redline Fuel System Cleaner which is the same thing as Techron with higher levels of detergent.

    Techron is great stuff.
