I am restoring a vintage Alfa Spider. At present anyway, decided to keep the usually gnarly dealer installed body side moldings that found their way on to many Alfa’s especially. I’m missing this ‘end’ piece. If any of you have this piece - usually it’s a throwaway, please save me this spear shaped end cap and notify me if you have it.

The rub rails systems were a vendor item, surely they still are made???

ur correct, I had no idea they still made this stuff new. I spent 20 bucks to get that little bugger to me new. Sales can’t be that good? People are adding this? 99% are tearing it off never to use again. My car is such a sweet little original patina car that I’ve chosen to keep the trim, but at least want IT looking it’s best!

    anyway this thread is dead...

    LOL!

It was "Of a time" when American cars were huge land yachts and the "body Cladding" vogue was yet to arrive.....

So I worked at both Ford and Pontiac/Cadillac new car dealers and this was a VERY common adder to avoid the whiskey dents of door impacts.
As recently as 1994 I had some obese Walmart shopper on a Suburban JAM her car in beside me, SLAM open her door to wedge her ample slabs of fat into the open world, and leaving a 4" vertical crease in my rear quarter panel.....

The only part of the car left, fabricated in steel....

    *sigh*

Smaller women is the actual answer......

Small cars today are more common, but when a truck hit my daughter's Sky, it was like:
    "Screw it, it's totalled...."....

Rub rails would not have helped in today's world.
