It is very difficult to describe a noise in words and whilst I could try and record the noise, all I have is a smart phone and I don't think it would pick it up!

Anyway, I am going to give it a go.

    2003 360 F1 spider RHD.

About 2 months ago I noticed a quiet shhhufff, shhhufff, shhhufff sound from the passenger side (left). Seemed to be coming from outside the car and timed with wheel speed. Most noticeable when going past walls which it would reflect off.

After a recent road trip it has now got louder and has become more of a fffubb, fffubb, fffubb noise when turning right - ie transferring weight to the left side of the car where the noise appears to be coming from.

Nothing getting hot and car drives okay.

I have not driven the car since and will get it looked at, but wondered what people thought?

It doesn't sound like a wheel bearing which is more of a constant droning noise in my experience and I don't think it is brakes as they are not getting hot and there is no pulling.

What about a dry CV boot / joint? Wheel bearing? Any other thoughts?

It is always nice to have a bit of an idea about what is going on before handing the wallet over to the garage!

    Thanks.

Long shot, but after a fluid change for the e-diff among other things, I was getting a sound like slight brake pad drag synchronized with wheel speed that became more prominent when turning. Turned out to be a self inflicted issue from my decision to use Redline differential fluid that apparently does not incorporate friction modifiers. Replaced the fluid immediately with the recommended Shell differential fluid and everything was hunky dory afterwards. If you haven't changed diff fluid for some time, I'd be tempted to try that as a low cost possibility for solving your issue. Some folks choose to add friction modifiers separately to alternate diff fluids, but for my peace of mind it now make more sense to just go with Ferrari's recommendations.

Jack the car up and spin the wheel by hand, get someone to watch the run put of the tyre as you spin it. Tyre might not be on rim correctly

I'd put my idea at a tire problem. Once had a Michelin that thumped slightly upon braking on my 911. Turned out it was belt separation within the tire. Other than that the car went down the road just fine. I'd put the car up and check the treads and overall "roundness". Just my .02

    Thanks all!

The tyres are a distinct possibility as they are a little old and had sat, not doing many miles in the years before I bought the car. When I get it looked at, I will feedback.
