    I have a 1989 348TS and the odometer keeps running even when the car is stopped. The speedo works occasionally but often just spins. I have changed the sensor but the problem persists. I tried another speedo and it does the same thing. I checked the connector above the left rear shock tower and it appears ok. Can anyone offer any advice? Thank you in advance.

    Never heard of that before.
    Do you have access to a signal scope that you can hook across the 2 wires going to the sensor? That will tell you if there is a short, or a cross signal that gets onto those wires and faking the speedo into thinking that the car is moving.

    Try checking the connections on the alternator.

    Also,

    The speedo/tach acting crazy is an early symptom of the alternator starting to go bad.
