355 Odometer working speedo stopped?

    The odometer in my 96 is still counting mileage but the needle isnt showing speed, do the motors go bad on the speedo head? Any way to test motor? If VSS wasnt working Odometer shouldn't either right?

    Correct.

    Did you see the recent message thread on the forum where Watson fixed his speedo simply by resoldering a few of the circuit board connections? Your problem may be electromechanical, however.

    I don't know how closely the 355 speedo resembles the 348's, but there are some great pictures of the internals in this message thread:

    I did not drive mine far enough to see if it was actually counting mileage.
    The lack of speed feedback limited the F1 to only 2nd gear. Up and down the street was it.

    BTW, I put just under 100 miles on my car Saturday without a hitch.
