I need help identifying my wheels. I cannot find any markings on them and don't plan to de-mount the tires unless I have to. Are these OEM Ferrari 3-piece 19" wheels or aftermarket made for Ferrari?

Look like HREs to me. Definitely not OEM Ferrari wheels.

100% aftermarket. I would agree they look like HREs. Date code on those tyres look like week 51 of the year 2011. I would replace them, rather old.

Thank you all. Jason, mine look identical to yours. I'll look more closely on the spokes. I find that I need to polish the lips after each ride. Lots of maintenance. Was hoping to stretch the tires to 10yrs, being that the car is never tracked but just driven leisurely on side roads, kept in a climate controlled garage 365 days, and there is no visible wear on my Bridgestone RE-11's. I planned to inspect often for cracks. Hate to hijack my own thread. I know there are strong opinions on both sides of tire life based on age.

Really bad idea. Sometimes you need to stop really fast and your tires will not do it.

I have not once heard a valid opinion on the other side of the issue.

100% agree. Even further I actually spoke to tire engineers about age thing and they went further and said that they will be compromised, even on a regular car, let alone a high performance sports. Think of an old rubber band that's been lying around for a while. If you take it and try to stretch it you will see inevitable cracks appear and it will likely snap easily without effort.

Cracks in a tire's rubber occur with age, sometimes appearing on the surface but also inside the tire as well that you cannot see. Eventually the steel belts in the tread to separate from the rest of the tire and the entire sections of tread can de-laminate under an emergency stopping situation!

You guys are both wrong because I can't afford for you to be right (real reason #2).

"This bushing I have in my hand here has been working fine on my suspension since 1997... see works fine when I bend it.." *disintegrates into two pieces*
Can be repaired with GE silicone in a tube. Anything can be repaired with silicone in a tube. :)

Don't get me started on using a battery that's 15 years old that I booster when it's flat.

Tires outgas, too, actually changing their chemical composition. 5-6 years are about all tires are good for. Just shed a tear for all that unused tread and get a good set of new tires.

Done deal, I am convinced! I will however, wait the month for a great Black Friday deal. Fair compromise.

A buddy who had his new looking tires changed when they aged-out took an ice pick to ruin the sidewalls so no one could use them on some unsuspecting enthusiast looking for a bargain. He told me he didn’t want someone hurt by one of his old tires failing. Bravo, I say.
