My 430 Scuderia is European and is delivered with the original 4 point harness. During this years track days I have had an increasing problem with the harness. The two straps over the chest has started slipping and getting lose. Does anyone have a tip or trick of how to stop the belts from slipping?

Hey Johan, I noticed on mine w/o the shoulder pads I have to make sure the belts are clamped down very tight otherwise they will slip.

My recommendation is to keep the pads on.

If you're using a hans device, then take the pads off.

My feeling is that I am adjusting them as tight as I can, but they will slip anyway. After a few laps I start to move around in the seat :-(

I have thought about replacing them with Sabelt racing harness but since they are standard I cant really just change them. I wish I had the standard 3-p belt and then the option to put in a full 6-P racing harness instead. This set up is really just for show...

    Bingo.

Look up the specs on the Sabelt Clubman harness (which is what Ferrari installed in your Scud), and it is decidedly unimpressive. I think they chose this model based on cost and looks, rather than safety in a vehicle class like the Scud.

Since your car has the mounting points already in place, the proper submarine cutout in the seat, and you enjoy the track, why not upgrade to a better, wider, harness? A good 6-point (without a Ferrari logo) should not be too expensive, and you'll be far safer.

That is what I am thinking. The only problem whit this is that the car no longer would pass the yearly inspection. But I am not sure they would notice that the harness doesn't follow the COC homologation...

    +1.

The 4-pt harness in the scuderia minimizes submarining better than the standard US 3-pt but is in no comparison the best setup for the track. if anything it is just the most expensive setup...$500ish for a pair of shoulder pads and $4,500 for just red belts w a ferrari logo embroidered on it...I still think I was either drunk or crazy or both when I bought mine, but I have to say, it does look great lol.

I don't do hardcore track days, just spirited driving during Ferrari Racing Day Events so the 4-pt is adequate for me. I also think my seat size fits me perfectly so, there's very little submarining/rolling. Regardless though, mine haven't slipped / gotten loose on me.

If you want the ultimate, 5-6pt sabelt is the way to go...couple of hundred bucks just because there is no prancing horse logo.

Not added the 6-P part yet. If you want to do it right you need to make a hole in the seat. Second option is to route them on front of the seat...

I can agree that the harness looks good, but I would much rather have the 3-P belt and added the 6-P harness for track days. For street driving they are just a pain in the neck.

Because they're illegal under federal law- all cars are required by US DOT to be sold with 3-point inertia-reel belts.
