Just ordered my key from jimmy540 on ebay, I am pumped! Gonna have the key cut at Ferrari of Washington as soon as she arrives!\ Robert
I was interested in buying one of these as memorabilia. seeing that the uncut ones are more valuable, I emailed the seller for auction 180094713693 and he seems to have bought a few to collect a while back when they were still uncut. here's the auction link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-Enzo-Stradale-OEM-RED-Key-Blank-Uncut-Shields_W0QQitemZ180094713693QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180094713693
If any of you purchased a key from the FerrariStore and do not want to return it or have no present use for it, PM or e-mail me and I'll buy it from you.
My "watch" was off and I was, therefore, running late!!! BTW, anyone who wants to unload his bogus key from the FerrariStore let me know.
Seeing the type of PM'ng interest that a post that I made on the 456/550/575 forum generated, I figured I'd throw it out here, in case you don't wander to that neck of the woods often. I do have a few uncut Enzo keys (and seeing that I don't need them at this time), they are available. I guess if you don't feel up to using a Dremel motor tool and dealing with epoxies, you can always try to obtain an uncut key. The gist of my post there was related to the scuderia-shielded versus the rectangular-logo'd red keys. To clarify, and I believe this was touched on earlier in this thread, it is the F430 key that has the rectangular logo, and the Enzo/CS keys that have the shields on them.
OK, let me get this straight for everyone. The Red headed ferrari key with a shield logo was designed for a 360 CS and an enzo. The 430 key has a transponder chip in it along with a remote on the head of the key. The Enzo has a transponder as well. The Ferrari Keys being sold on ebay by JIMMY540i are not real. I purchased one and opened the caps and they have been painted red. The part # on the cap of Jimmys key does not match a CS key, but a 612 key. They are original ferrari 612 keys ( which came silver with square logo) but painted red. It is Impossible that the key that Jimmy540i has is real. His auction does not include the item sticker on the bottom of the box which would show 612. I am a locksmith business owner for over 30 yrs who has owned 360's and currently has a 430. I am going to be able to get some REAL RED HEAD SHIELD LOGO BLANKS with everything included in a few weeks which I will be putting on ebay. These are the real things without a doubt. I will keep you posted and let you know when they go up.
Weclome to Ferrarichat................... You are going to fit in well around here by the looks of it...........
Thanks for the post and WELCOME. As for Jimmy, I purchased a key from him as well and noticed its cheap feel and composition. I think it is a rip off and I am looking back at my aucction details to look for misrepresentations and licensing issues (the lawyer in me). I noticed something ripped off the bottom of the box and, therefore, if Jimmy did this, it is aa complete misrepresentation and fraudluent use of Ferrari licensing. I will make it my business to ensure Jimmy doesn't sell another thing in this country if that is the case. I will keep you posted and Jimmy, beware. You charged me a pretty penny for this POS you sold me. Joe
Wow, If that's the case with Jimmy's keys, I have to say that's pretty disheartening. I was wondering where or how he got red keys with the rectangular logo on it, because no Ferrari store I've been to has ever sold them. I guess it makes sense now. The irony is that his listings used to have verbiage along the lines of "the keys with the shields on them are not authentic." I noticed that's not indicated anymore. Did the pamphlets that came with the keys he sold state that it was a reproduction of the Enzo/Stradale keys? The keys with the shields do indeed have that pamphlet. The silver 612 keys correspondingly have a pamphlet stating they are reproductions of the 612 Scaglietti key. Joe, the thing that you may have noticed "ripped" off the bottom of the box is the pricetag / sku from the ferrari store. that's where they are normally placed. It has a UPC code and the words "ENZO FERRAR" on it. Not sure if this is worth noting, but in personally examining a series of the boxes for the shielded Enzo keys that I have, the hologram prefix seems to always be "AM," or at least have "M" as the second character in the serial#. I believe the silver keys are "AG" or something to that effect (if you remember from chemistry, AG is the abbreviation in the table of elements for silver..). I noticed this in one of the pics for Jimmy's red rectangular-logo'd keys. Not sure if this is the case for all lots.. but all of my uncut shielded key boxes have the "AM."
Joe, That 5 letter word that starts with "F" and ends with "D" always bothers me. Establish it's a 612 key and that's prima facie evidence of fraud. Easy enough to meet the elements for California. Let me know if you need my help with this.
Ok Joe you are right in this case. Arnaget the problem with jimmys keys is that he has removed the clear label on the bottom of the box which shows the part# of the key, and he has removed the little red book that comes in the box which tells you about the car the key is for. His keys are 100% gauranteed painted red 612 keys. Joe if there is any help you need with stopping jimmy540i I will be glad to help you.
Thanks as always, Greg. This isn't something ANY OF US want to spend time disputing but there are so many posers out there that selling stuff you really don't have to sell just gets me! I will give you all updates. Funny thing is that this Jimmy character has sent me an email today saying I could exchange the old key for one with the emblem....wonder why it didn't come that way in the first place. Also wonder why he didn't explain whether the keys he is touting as authenic are indeed so. Joe
Red430, For reference sake, the part # on the clear sticker on the shielded Enzo uncut key's box would have been: 00289990392. it'll say: 1 keyring with silver ring 00289990392 Ferrari spa via Abetone inf. 4 41053 Maranello (MO) Italy Made in Italy "Read & Keep"
This is the identical wording and # that is on the bottom of the box from ferrari store along with the Ferrari hologram and booklet about the cs and enzo Russell

Joe[/QUOTE]Thank you guys Iwas going to trade one of my shields for the emblem with Jimmy I was just waiting on his address I was wondering how and where he got them because I emailed F store and said they did not sel them wth the emblem. DM
also funny how jimmys key doesnt come with that label or the booklet. that label would clearly say the part# of a 612 key.
I just checked the box my uncut key came in. I purchased the key 4-5 months ago from Ferrari of San Diego (Tom Schroeder from Ferrari of San Diego was awesome and I received the key one day after placing my order for their last one in stock). I didn't know at that time that the blanks would no longer be available to us just "common" folks w/o an Enzo or a CS. The clear sticker item description and part number is the same as described above, but the hologram sticker shows the serial(?) number starting with "AG", not "AM" So, I would not assume if is starts with "AG" that it is not authentic. The Dealer stock sticker on the bottom of the box also says the following: Ferrari of Newport Keyring - Car Key No Size Enzo Good Luck
