    The OEM steel brake booster is compatible with the CCM brake system isn't it ?

    The CCM version has a different internal bore because cramic brakes require a higher clamping force to operate within their optimum efficiency range. The standard booster will work, but not well enough.

    That is an excellent price, considering the Brembo steel 380mm kit approaches that price. However, I prefer steel rotors should the rare need arise to replace one, as opposed to carbon replacement will cost more than just a few rounds of golf.

    It will work, but it is not optimum.

    I upgraded to Brembo six-piston front and rear. In this situation, the standard master cylinder works fine. Why? The standard brakes are four-piston front and rear. The ratio of the front-to-rear piston area is the same with OEM as it is with Brembo.

    There is more compelling reason why the master cylinder for steel brakes are not optimum for the carbon brakes. It has more to do with the ratio of piston areas, hence the resulting clamping force.

    The steel 360 and 430 brakes have four-piston calipers front and rear; whereas, the carbon brakes are six-piston front and four-piston rear. I'm not professing to know the exact piston diameter of 28mm or 30 mm or 32mm, because one or two millimeters difference pales in comparison to the effect of adding two more pistons up front

    The master cylinder for each setup ... 4F + 4R versus 6F + 4R ... have their respective internal ports different from each other, to achieved balanced hydraulic brake bias. In simplistic terms, the carbon front caliper has approximately 50% clamping force (six pistons instead of four pistons) so the hydraulic pressure to the fronts has to be reduced to not prematurely lockup the fronts under heavy braking.

    I beleive the F430 has EBD i.e. bias is managed by the ABS module not fixed by a differential master cylinder bore; the CCM master cylinder has the same 23mm bore for both circuits. In view of this changing calipers affect pedal pressure but bias will remain largely unchanged.

    I assume the bias is updated when the ABS module is coded for CCMs, which obviously requires an SD3. This also activates a different map for each Manettino setting to suit the CCMs.
