I'm kind of a car audio junkie and change my head unit more frequently than Lady Gaga changes her hairstyle. Right now I decided to go back to stock. But here is the best of my experiments with "stock like" head units:

    The Kienzle - MCR1031NAV-CAR - 1DIN Navigation

I head unit is not available in the US. I sourced it from Germany and paid $1,131.47 (plus shipping). Yes, expensive, but this thing looks very stock when installed, has a reverse monitor, supports Bluetooth phone integration (including audio streaming), as a decent Nav, etc. It has a pretty decent built in mic so that you don't have to route a phone mic if you don't want to (I didn't).

Here's the unit on my bench when I first got it:

    Installed in my 360 spider:

I created a custom plug and play harness (I'm an electrical engineering professor) that works with virtually all stock Becker head units (anything earlier than the 458). I also paid for and downloaded the US and Canada maps for the Navigation.

As I said above, it supports a reverse camera (I used the Boyo VTL405TJ [not included], which I highly recommend).

The only thing you will have to add is a new GPS antenna, and here's one at Amazon that would work for $11.99).

Want it? Ok, as I said I paid over $1,000 for the head unit and then spent hours on the custom harness. I'll sell it for $800. Contact me at [email protected] if you're interested.

(I'd prefer to ship to ConUS or Canada).

    Or, of course, best offer.

This unit compares favorably to Porsche's Classic Navigation Radio. But unlike that unit, it also supports a backup camera input (no idea why Porsche didn't decide to include that!).

Is there something you didn't like about the unit? Just curious on why you didn't keep it installed. I am interested

Nothing I didn't like. As I said, I change head units a lot. Right now I'm on a stock head unit. But I'm thinking about trying something different (yet again... ).
