I currently have the Diamond Wheels on my car, thinking about getting some HRE P40S. I was wondering if anyone knows the weight of the stock wheels and if I switch to HRE's will it affect the handling characteristics of the car? Thanks

Do you mean the optional wheels in diamond finish? I think those are forged wheels and are pretty light weight. IF the sizes are kept the same I dont think you will get a perceptible change in performance. To my mind, the reason to make the change is for aesthetics and nothing more. HRE are really nice wheels, but my personal taste is to keep it looking factory.

Thanks, yes Diamond Finish wheels. I like HRE's and just want a different look, but I am not willing to sacrifice strength and quality for looks.

p40s is older HRE and is not as light as your Dia wheels probably few lbs heavier. Now you have HRE p40sc which will be on point with your Dia wheels , if you want lighter then HRE new p101 series will be 18.9-20lbs in oem specs for 458 . Hope this helps you have any questions call me directly were HRE's largest dealer love to help.

I was about to say this. Yes if any HRE wheel should go on the ferrari it should either be the SC series or the carbon fiber series.

I wouldn't do it. The 458 is incredibly powerful and can generate lots of mechanical grip/force and therefore pressure on components.

Stick with the factory forged wheels.

Awesome i had same number for oem . So P40sc will be lighter 22.5 front and 23.6 rear again this is depending on offsets. This offsets we have done .

Now if anyone goes with HRE p1 series you'll save more front will be 20.5 lbs and rear 22lbs .

So the each stock OEM wheel is around 1,2 kg heavier than the forged OEM wheel then.

That seems about right for a cast lbs. forged wheel of the same size. It will make more of a difference in ride and handling than you would think, because it is unsprung weight. Unsprung mass - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
