Just want to report that I have been able to successfully convert the exterior lighting to LED on my US market 99 355F1 Spider. The best part of this is that I did it in a fully reversible manner without the modifications to the harness or housings and using an off the shelf flasher relay also without modification. So all plug and play. No hyper flashing, everything working.

    The relay: 54 225 003 A
Purchased a new one from FCP Euro for like $40 shipped. I was clued into this relay over on the 550 forum as it uses the same relay as a 355.

I used LASFIT bulbs I purchased back in 2023 for all positions. This project rode the shelf for awhile. I was getting ready to list them all out but the tech has changed enough since then that they have newer models. I did use CANBUS compatible lights that have some resistance to them. Perhaps their more modern variants might even be closer to the original incandescent bulbs’ resistance to eliminate a relay swap all together. My advice would be get your bulbs installed on the original relay and test.

I have installed all except the marker lights at this point. They are a bit of a pain to get to.

I am very satisfied with the light output of all the lights. The headlights are very impressive. The factory projectors work well with the LEDs producing an appropriate pattern and not blinding oncoming traffic. I did not have to realign the lights. The high beam is just incredible. The factory headlights with the halogens were not bad at all, but the LEDs take these lights to a modern level.

Likewise the factory passing/fog lights are amazing. Lasfit makes H1 bulbs that have the same footprint of the originals and they too are plug and play. This is those bulbs: https://a.co/d/4wXFnNy

One last piece of advice is to use the bulb color to match your expected output. In example use red bulbs in the red lenses. Don’t stick white everywhere.
