    FChat,

i just picked up my new 296 gtb (finally). Love it but have a question.
When off throttle and after downshifts, it makes an odd noise that is hard to describe. Almost sounds like two thick plastic cups hitting each other. It’s louder from piped in sound (windows down it is super faint; windows up, quite noticeable).
    No odd behavior or lights.
Otherwise car sounds great, better than my sf90.
Curious if that’s expected or what it could be.

    Thank you!

Funny I kind of had the same reaction when I first got my gtb. If I understand correctly the sound you're referring to, I think it's the ferrari version of pops and bang. Personally I hate pops and bang, sounds like badly tuned bmw, mustang or amg. Ferrari does it very subtle on the 296 so I don't mind it. I thought it was like a little tin can rolling around in the engine bay.

Yes, it sounds exactly like you described. I was looking behind me wondering if something was rolling around!
As long as it’s normal, I am happy. This thing is fantastic

I notice the same sound in my 2025 296GTB.. like driving over a loose manhole cover.. one thing I noticed as well is that only happens in “Performance” mode and NOT “Qualification” or Hybrid mode with engine…
