We bought a 42" Bravia LCD in mid-Jan '07 from a regular appliance store here in Dallas. Total was around $2,200.00, including 8.25% sales tax & delivery/setup.

It's been an excellent TV, and controls are extremely simple to use. Probably a lot cheaper now than a year ago as well.

After much research (www.avsforum.com & consumer reports) I ended up with a Panny 50" plasma from Costco and am happy. Didn't go 1080P because from my viewing distance it isn't necessary and I don't game on it; watch movies and sports and LCD's motion blur was distracting to me.

Best picture I ever saw in my quest was a Fujitsu plasma-it was insane as was the price. Pioneer was nice also but I think for value/dollar the Panny is the winner; Pannys are very reliable also....

Most important factor in picture quality is the quality of the input signal-garbage in=garbage out....

I have long been a proponent of Fujitsu, but I can no longer deny that the Pioneer Kuros in Elite trim is the best television I have seen.

I like the Sony XBR LCDs, but motion blur is still an issue for me when watching sporting events.

Pete, I ll give ya 137 bucks for the flat screen plus a few dairy queen coupons and I ll let you have my 12 inch black and white zenith TV, I ll throw in the milk crate tv stand. These Zeniths are whats in style now - NOT flat screens. Dont waste your time with that thing.

Hey!! Check the fine print in your agreement. $0.09 a pull is NOT as much as $0.10 last time I looked! :)
