Hey guys n gals, I'm a 20 year old student in Southern California, United States, not happy with how things are going right now. I'm feeling burnt out, don't know what I want to do, career wise (other than be a F1 driver, but I have to think realistically ) My best friend and I are planning on going to Europe- leaving in February or so. We don't have a huge budget- we'll obviously have $6-7k saved up ($US) and are more than prepared to find a small part time job, wherever we end up traveling to. We have a few things we want to see- F1 race, World Cup (I know its in Germany in '06), all the major cities, the Ferrari factory, obviously. Where else would you recommend us to go see? We're well aware we'll be staying in hostels, camping, maybe hte occasional cheap hotel. Anything else we should prepare for, save for, expect? I'm not a total newb at this- my brother did this a few years ago, so I know sorta what to expect from him. I'm just hoping some of you in Europe will be able to give me some good solid advice. I don't care if I have to rough it- I'm more than willing to go a few days (weeks) if necessary without a shower. I just figure that right now, before I'm married, have a job or career to think about, I should do this- it's something I've always wanted to do. Thanks a lot for your help, suggestions, etc. Sincerely, ~Jay

You're looking at a great tip! Lot's to see in Europe! Impossible to list all intresting places. If you would like to see ALL major cities, you definately need some time Have you got a rough itinary in mind? Or is it just "we'll see when we get there" You know you just CAN'T skip Paris, Rome, Monaco, Florence,... to name just a few. You already mentioned Maranello as a must yourself, off course! Great place! A trip through the Swiss Alps is also a beautiful experience! Nice F1 circuits are Imola, Barcelona and Spa Francorchamps of course! Being in the Monaco area in the GP weekend is also very special! It's always THE place to be if you want to see exotic cars! Even more so when the F1-circus takes place. Enjoy! Keep us updated where you will hang out if you'ld like You're absolutely right to do this now! Wish I did something similar in the past... Greets, Alexander
Thanks guys, I don't think I'll be there still when the Monaco GP rolls around. I will however definately stop by- I hear its expensive, and I'm trying to avoid that word as much as I can while I'm there. I'm currently shopping for tickets to the Barcelona GP- definately going to the race for sure. I plan on hitting all the big cities. My buddy and I are shooting for 2-3 months there. We're bringing enough money, and even don't mind working to make some cash while we're there. We don't really have it set up to where we wanna go first. But we're either gonna fly into Barcelona or London- I have some relatives in Scotland- going there for sure. We plan on buying EuroRail passes- I know these are the top choice for travel through Europe. Feel free to but in or give me some other ideas. Thanks, ~Jay
