Phil the sticker guy wrenched his M3 yesterday morning in the rain. He had a hella hot 96 M3 that was worked to the nines. All go and all show. He embarked on the M3 project when I kicked his ass in a race. He was driving his stock M3 and I was in my stock M Roadster. Of course, as the M3 got faster and faster, I had to get faster and faster cars... :)

Below, are some heart wrenching pictures of the car. Full Dinan kit. Lots of custom euro-market only parts. Custom Mmats Audio setup. Custom one-off wheels. Lightweight parts all over the place. It was a really well done car.

Oh yeah, and he was fine. I bet if he did not have the 5-points, it would have been a different story...

Glad to hear that he is okay. So he is going to join the Ferrari Family? He is going to love it.

By the way, Jon, when did Ali go and get the 360 Spider? Did this happen to be the one sitting at CC?

I've seen E36 M3s crushed like pancakes. You don't want a 5 point in one unless you have a rollbar.

    I know, i have a roll bar :)

I had a girl in my car yesterday had a difficult time putting them on and said "wow they are so easy to get off". My response was: "harnesses are like guys, impossible to figure out and easy to get off" ;)

I'm glad he's OK but......whatever he gets to replace the Bimmer better have training wheels until he learns how to drive. Street racing, wannabe racers. Sad. Really sad.

Actually, Phil's one of the top 5 autocross drivers in the BMW CCA in the Northeast. He can out AutoX me. He turns 1:02s in factory prepared MINI track car prototypes at Lime Rock. (Yeah, the factory invites him to drive their test cars.)

I'd call that heavily qualified to dress up like boy racer in his show car if he wants, but you're older and wiser than me so I thank you for your sage and insight.

    Sad. Really sad.

Oh oh. Somebody's upset. Listen, the point is he crashed on the STREET. That's the same as crashing in practice at a race. Uncalled for.
On your other points. I stopped autocrossing 30 years ago. It taught me a lot in terms of reaction times and driving a car by instinct. The experience saved my ass on the track more than once. What are "MINI track cars" ? As far as I know, the new Mini doesn't have a class as yet. As for "1:02s" at Lime Rock----talk to me when he does 1:00's like I did 10 years ago in a then 30 year old A-H Sprite with 120HP. And I do take the uphill flat. No brake. No lift. Not even a confidence building breather off the gas pedal. Right foot to the firewall from the right hander. Did I mention I do 1:02's with 57HP in a Formula Vee.

    Sad ? Not me :)

p.s. Thanks for the compliment. I like being "old" and wise. I'm also charming and extraordinarily handsome. ;)

wats wrong with crashing on street? unfortunate incidents happen everyday everywhere on the street, we don't know the details of his accidents, why pointing fingers?
in any case the guy crashed his car, why gotta be an a$$ about it?

I'm disappointed in the lack of respect shown to a fellow non-Ferrari owning auto enthusiast. When I saw a very famous hip-hop artist who lives in NYC down the block from me VERY upset when he scratched a very expensive Spinner, I was very sad. I know what he puts into his cars and I know what pain he felt. The last thing from my mind was "What a fool for putting giant chrome spinners on a Rolls!" Regardless of the person, skill, passion, desire, or goals someone who had a nice car that they cared for, who did some good work for us F-chatters in NY, got his babdy crunched in an unfortunate situation. The fact that you publicly took solace in something with external tendencies toward something you personally do not like (regardless of the fact that you do not see the whole picture and are quite frankly wrong) leads me to believe that you are a sorry bitter prick. That makes me sad because because when people take the "Holier than Thou" attitude, nothing good ever comes of it.

Be bitter -- that's fine. Do it quietly or be prepared to make other people sad.

I'd stop ranting now, but I'm in a bit of a mood to pick a fight.

Never on the street? In torrential rain? When someone cuts you off?

You've been out of auto crossing longer than he's been alive. Clearly you have experience in competetion. You've never bent metal in a non-competetive situation? Ever? Either you're full of **** or the biggest pu55y on the planet.

    http://www.nuzzomotorsports.com

I wonder what he'll be driving next year?

What's the power to weight ration in a Vee? In a Mini car? What's more impressive at 1:02?

    Clearly.

    Black 355,
I am neither "a sorry bitter prick" nor "full of ****" nor "the biggest ***** driving".
I'm sorry for not giving you more of the fight you were looking for. Arguing on the Internet doesn't hold the facination for me that it does for you.
    Truce ?
