I have a very good video camera from my dad. It's a Panasonic Mini DV camera with 120x super digital zoom. It's 4 years old (or even older) but it was very expensive back then (several thousand DM).
I don't know much about cameras but the lens is broken and it would cost me ca. 400€ to get it fixed.
The Question is now repair the old one or buy a new one.
What do you think about it? Any ideas about good new ones that are also cheap (my limit would be max. 600 to 700 €, but only if it's a realy good one)??

I do alot of filming when I'm on events and usually I put the videos later on my PC and work on them. I like to watch them on a beamer and so it should be a good quality camera.

    Thanks for your inputs

    Martin

It is difficult to give you a good advice on this matter. The camcorders have very much improved over the last few years and also have become a lot cheaper. I bought a Sony DV camcorder last year. It has all the gadgets that you can think of and costed me about 950 euro.

That's my problem. Buy a new good one or stay with the old one and put some money (or a lot for me) in it. Hope I will have one for the Deil meeting!

Any ideas about a cheap one (ca 400 to 500€)? 950 € is definitiv too much for me.

I bought a Panasonic GS 11 mini DV last year, 800x digital zoom, 24x optical zoom. Good enough for me, I've read a lot of positive feedback about it before I bought it. Paid about 450 euro's for it.

Good luck in making the right decision...
