    Hey Guys,

I got a call today from my salesman at a Ferrari dealership saying he had a brand new F430 Spyder (Red/Tan) inbound and the owner is not taking delivery. He sold me my 360 Spyder last year and rang me up to see if I was interested in trading mine back and taking the F430 Spyder.

I said of course I was if the number made sense and would it be at MSRP? Of course I knew in my heart it would not be and if it was I wouldnt of got the call with just one used Ferrari purchased.

Anyway the initial price qoute I was offered was $325K which I passed on. I asked him to email me the spec sheet on the car and the MSRP. I havent got the email yet but I assume the built out MSRP to be around $245K. How much over would be the right price?

If I decide to do this how much over the MSRP should I be prepared to pay in relation to what everyone else is paying? Any advice is welcome and thanks.

    Best,
    Brad

325K is not out of line for a new car at market. 1000-2000 mile cars can be had for 290ish.

$325k means nothing without knowing the MSRP. A fully optioned F430 can easily have a $275k MSRP. Ask the dealer how much over MSRP.

Good luck with the deal. Hope you get a good price. I have red in a post that you will take a Murci roadstar? Is the murcie yet died for you?

I think a great deal is 60-75K over MSRP. More typical is 75-90K over MSRP. Good luck and if you do it you will love it. Make sure it has all the options that you want or go find another car that does have what you want.

Not really searching for anything but if it makes sense you never know. I love the look of the Murci roadster in Pearl Orange so I thought about it. That said it is hard to let go of the Ferrari marque so the F430 Spider is another option or I could just stick with my 360, lots of options. I am awaiting the MSRP and spec sheet from the dealer via email.

I will post it up when I get it.

Ok, I am told the Specs on the 07 F430 Spider are:

    Rosso Corsa Ext
    Beige Int
    Castoro Carpets
    Black top
    red brake calipers
    carbon fibre for driving
    carbon fibre lower cabin
    Daytona Style Electric Seats
    Gia Instruments panel color
    Shields
    Front and rear parking sensors
    Matching roll bar Beige leather
    Daytona Beige upholstered rear
Hi Powered HiFi with Sub and ipod
    Tire pressure moniter
    Carbon Fiber dash
    Ceramic Brakes

The MSRP on the car is right around $265K and they will sell it to me for $65K over MSRP with a Christmas 07 delivery.

I am on the fence as to getting it and paying the premium or just waiting it out. For that money (give or take a bit) I could also pick up a new Murci LP640 or just enjoy my 360 Spider and not get all worked up. Not sure what I am going to do but I thought I would post the deal offered and get the boards thoughts.

    Best,
    Brad

It is very likely they actually bought the customer out of his MSRP contract, so their cost is much higher than "invoice". I know other dealers have been doing this since FNA officially allows selling at market now. 325. is in the ballpark for a new one, especially heavily optioned.

A thought.. Keep in mind that U.S. imports stop August 2008 and I suspect cars will not get cheaper. A spider for "only" $65,000 over is a good deal. Probably taking into consideration (whatever) you paid for 360.

I cannot find a new spider for less than $80,000 over MSRP anywhere in country and paid over $50,000 above MSRP for a 430 coupe. Some will tell you there is a better deal, so let them prove it. As soon as you ask them to deliver you a car for less, the posts stop. Best

Christmas '07 delivery is still a few months aways from being built. Given this, you should be able to influence the exact specs to your liking. Getting the exact car you want for +$65K in a market which supports even more for a Spider is a relatively easy decision. Get it before the deal goes away!

CCM brakes... YUMMY !!! slam 'em, pound 'em, they keep coming back for more. On the other hand, if you're never going on track, it is a wee bit excessive.

Beige interior? Ask him to clarify leather color code "05".
