I remember at Daytona when Preston Henn decided to add AJ Foyt to the driver list for the Porsche driven by Bob Wolleck without first telling Wolleck. Wolleck became angry and stated to the hungry press, "who the hell does this Mr A, J, Foyt think he is? Well, AJ went out and did some spectacular runs in the rain, and at that point AJ and Monsieur Wolleck became buddies. To add to the AJFoyt/Wolleck photos, here are some of AJ in his more familiar office setting, two new photos, one previously posted: (all photos copyrighted by ron paul) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank God for Linda Vaughn and the fact that this thread has more hits than the Massa thread I posted.
Thanks to all members for IMSA shots. I'm a new Italian member, great fan of IMSA GTO and GTU racecars. I have look the link for this forum from another French forum (Forum Auto) where are others fans of IMSA and Porsche. My hobbies are modelcars and cars's drawings (wiyh my MAC). Here some examples I collaborate too with some teams where I create the livery of the racecars. My most famous work is the recently Ferrari GT2 Motorola of AF Corse, winner the GT2 class in FIA GT Championship 2007. in next days I post some photos (I promise) , but I have only recently shots, or many others from Ferrari "finali mondiali" with many historic race cars.
Beautiful work Stefano. I originally trained as a graphic designer/tech illustrator. I actually took up photography to shoot reference photos for illustrations. Went to work in aerospace and transitioned form pen and ink to computers in the mid-eighties. I enjoyed photography and racing so much I stuck with it even though very little ever got published and I made almost none if my money back. But, it was fun! And since historic cars have been mentioned, I went to the Monterey Historics every year except one from 1977 to 2001. Anyone mind if I throw some of that into the mix? Cheers, Kurt O.
Kurt, your photos are very beautiful and detailed. Here some my old works (acrilic paint on canvas) with old Ferrari. (incluse too a false Turner) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Stefano, Brilliant work! Yes, I see the Michael Turner influence. Turner is one of my favorite motorsports artists along with Walter Gotschke, Hans Liska and Peter Helck. I have a number of the posters Turner did for Monaco, Watkins Glen, and the Nurburgring. I will have to dig out some of my drawings from years ago. Ron, agreed, Historics up to 1989. Still tons of good stuff there. Cheers, Kurt O.
I never thought of that! I have some art work too, thats how I can contribute. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
