Official 2009 Tri-State Spotters Thread

Saturday: 2 Ferrari F430 convertibles in Scarsdale following each other: One red/tan the other dark gray/red (I think). I will never get tired of the sound of that V8.

 

A couple Manhattan spots today:

- black Rolls-Royce Phantom in front of the Plaza, unsurprisingly bearing T&LC plate "PLAZA NY".
- red Ferrari F430 Spider on New Jersey plates on Madison and 69th in the evening.

yellow 360 spider with black wheels south bound on nichols rd at 1030 this morning in the rain

 

Mostly just exotic luxury cars today, but a few good spots nonetheless:
- dark green Aston-Martin DB7 Vantage Volante westbound on the LIE near Plainview around 7pm this evening.
- dark blue Bentley Arnage at a Holiday Inn (again) in Newark.
- black Maybach 57S in Midtown.
- silver Rolls-Royce Silver Spur IV off 5th Avenue in the 70s just off Central Park.

By far the rarest car I caught today was a black Mercedes R63 AMG, one of literally a handful sold in the United States. Here's another angle. I caught this high-performance minivan just off 42nd a block or two from Grand Central Station.

My vacation in New York has come to a close - it's been great visiting!

R63 AMG: I can't think of anything more useless than a 500hp minivan.... Oh wait, you can pick one up for about $30,000 used. I'll take it!

Ferrari F430 Spider, Dark Red/Tan, in front of Opera -- Atlanta, GA

 

Was pulling out of the Mobil Station on the South Bound Hutch this AM...when a Scud w/CT plates came screaming by.....and I do mean screaming...that car was STUNNING.
Here is my question though...it was Blue....not TDF....more like Ponzi...is that correct??...

I believe you are referring to Pozzi, which is a non-metallic blue.

Fantastic color. Looks absolutely unreal on most Ferraris.

 

Looks like a kit and a bad one at that. Ewwww

 

YES thank you for correcting my spelling...it was most def. non-metallic....and it did look exceptional.....I am not sure if he had the stripes down the hood as he went by much too fast...lol...but from the back it was unmisteakably a SCUD.

Big difference in looks and aesthetics from 65 to 73-study up on your Porsches so you can narrow it down next time.

 

Drove behind a 360 coming out of Barnes and Noble in Freehold Twp.

 

3/14/2009 - Bentley Flying Spur Next to Ricky Cabernet <sp?> coming out of a parking garage. Also a couple of , Contiental GT's, 911's, and one 911 turbo, In Manhattan.
3/15/2009 - Maserati Grandturismo in red yesterday on route 46 near pal park and fort lee right after GWB.

BMW Z8, Silver/Black, on the campus of Seton Hall University

 

Today I saw a red Challenge Stradale on Glen Cove Road - a few hours later, I saw a black NSX going in the other direction on Glen Cove Road. I also saw a black Maserati Quattroporte and a metallic brown 997 Turbo.

But the spot that really did it for me today...

...was a red F50. It wasn't in for service at Universal, so I actually spotted it 'in the wild'. I couldn't believe it! It looked amazing - and sounded even better. It definitely made my day.
