I think I'm just going to give up on this whole idea. I've only had my 308 for 8 months and I've already put nearly 8,000 miles on it. Despite the fact that it now runs 1000% better than the day I bought it I don't think anyone would believe me if I were trying to sell it to them. There is such a mileage stigma on Ferrari's, how can you truly enjoy a car if you're constantly worrying about it's resale value? Answer: you can't.

So I've decided to never sell my 308. Nope, sorry you can't have it d;-)

    Hi all,

just fyi, I bought one of my previous 308 QV GTS cars at Eberlein in 2010. Attached is the invoice for 33.000 EUR. (p.s. nice people and customer friendly!)

Car was typical red/beige, 65.000km on the clock, decent driver.

My next 308 QV GTS, bought in 2013, similar car, price: 40.000 EUR

My (up to now) last 308 QV GTS (meanwhile also sold) was bought in 2015 for 50.000 EUR.

These are real prices and show a continuous trend, although current asking prices (to me) seem over the top.

    Best regards,
    Frank

If you buy a 308 to make money, good luck, period. especially if you can't do anything on your own. Sorry for any harsh reality to the folks who want a 308.

I've had my 308 QV for 16 years and driven it for 25,000 miles. Paid $35K, could sell for X would not make a penny after I add all the expenses and I work on the car myself.

Runs great and have never had a problem outside of a fuel pump relay, a radiator hose and a radiator seam split. Very reliable, comfortable and fun to drive on the back roads. Not alot of power, but great engine noise (with a tubi) and just enough power to beat VW beetles, okay older Toyota corollas.

Would I buy one to enjoy, absolutely, but not to speculate, ever.

I can attest to this. I am doing all of my own mechanical work, paid a small fortune for a very nice paint job, and would barely get my money back if I sold. I do think they are still a good value proposition since they cost a bit more to maintain/insure/store, bring a lot pleasure, and generally hold their value. A new car costs less to use but is much less fun and loses value a lot faster.

I bought mine in '94 with 68k miles...I now have 119k miles. It is nice that the values have come up, but I'm going to keep driving mine. I've had mine advertised on CL and as soon as the interested party finds out the mileage, they shy away. Oh well, guess I'm stuck with a Ferrari :)

That car wasn't terrible, but I think it's biggest negative was that it was located in Canada. I love Canada, but importation adds to cost. It was also missing all the smog equipment, which we all know is pricey to replace, especially on one year only parts that are found on an 83'. I think those two items alone bring the price up 10k to 60k, which is not crazy for a car that still needs Tlc.

Whilst it looks in fine condition, the whole body seems to be sitting 1" too high all round.
The not unusual gap between the front wheel arch and tyre. The slightly less expected gap between the rear wheel arch and tyre. But what looks odd is the huge gap between the exhaust outlets and the rear valance?

Well, I agree. But, "original paint"? Come on. The original paint was a single stage lacquer - should have patina. Plus look at the mirrors - no way they are original and there is a mirror on the passenger side. And the spoiler -- never saw that on a carb car (also a drawback in my opinion).

But condition is what matters and that car looks to be very nice :):).

Mirrors are aftermarket. The wheels are NOT the QV wheels, they are the early 328 concave wheels. The inside center of the wheels required a bit of machining to fit over the 308 (wheel bearing) hub.

"No rips or stains in the targa top material" ?!? Hahahaha... they aren't Ferrari savvy enough to know that the targa grain is molded into the fiberglass and there *is* no material to rip?

The targa liners sag .. if you try to clean them with spray can cleaner. It seems to dissolve the glue. This being an early 2 valve injected car, a discount is appropriate. While they look great and start right up, they are noticeably sluggish.
