I'm guessing some of this is tongue in cheek humor? Anyway, "much better" means something very different to me. A Golf GTI might be a "much better" utility vehicle compared to a 328. But that's where the "much better" adjective begins and ends.

Yes of course, I thought that was very clear.

Just sold today on BaT, $70,000 plus the 5% buyer fee, pretty strong price I think. It's a nice car, not sure if it's some one on here, but pretty nice, ~50k miles, I am encouraged. prices seem to be trending down lately, but this is better!

I had two local friends who had to pay a 20K+ bill for valve guides and related work on 355s. So, in my experience, it is true. But I will freely admit I don't own one.

I've owned both the 328gts and 355 spider. The 328 was very reasonable to runnand strong mechanically. The 355 was a fabulous thing but eye wateringly expensive to run. I would say that on a like for like annual basis, the 355 was 3x more expensive to run. Loved it to bits though.

Eighteen years ago I bought a lightly used 1986 328 GTS and though it is for sale 20K miles later- I agree completely.

Hey Paul, good luck with the sale.

In my opinion, based on the description, mileage, color and current market, the price is a little below market so the car should move once the word gets out. Not sure how to make it come up in searches for 328 GTB for sale.

Maybe the guy considering the 360 vs. the 328 should consider checking out this car. I'm sure a 328 GTB is more fun to drive than a 360. Pretty hard to make a 328 GTB go 360 like you can a 360! ;)

Thanks Furmano for your opinion that the price is attractive. That may help offset the inconvenience of the car's location in sunny Idaho!

I may have this guy's car. His last post was in 2015 so I'm not going to PM him, but fits the description of one of the previous owners of my car.

I had no mechanical issues of any kind except one factory recall was not an expense to me.

Just my opinion but I would call this car today the best you do could in an older modern day Ferrari when considering value and still head turning appeal.

Unless I am thinking of someone else his first name is Lee. Your cars owner was Dennis and Dennis was the guy that put a lot of miles on the car. Also he says he bought it in San Francisco. Dennis bought it in Walnut Creek. He was a local so he would know the difference. But they both had QV's prior.

I agree with your last point. I know a number of long time Ferrari owners that had 328's back in the day and are now shopping for another. That's as good an endorsement as I can think of.

I have been around these cars a long time. We have a few nice cars but the 328 is my favorite to drive.

Took a deposit today on my '86 328 GTS. US Frame #2, reportedly the first US spec production 328. Sad to sell her but certainly made better by the buyer who I have since learned is a legend in Ferrari circles. No name sharing at this point but he is a fairly regular poster on FChat and may chime in sometime soon.

Despite the asking prices getting into 6 figures, I think there is a soft spot in the market for 328s right now, good time to buy. I think you can get a good solid GTS for $75K. I have a weakness for black Ferraris, would buy that Idaho car if I didn't already have a black 328. Oops, I just saw the asking on the ID car. I would not be a buyer over $100K I think that's risky.

I've looked at that Copley GTB (on line) a few times. Is it me or does the driver-side door look slightly discolored? There seems to be something incongruous with that door as it pertains to the rest of the body.

If it were in better condition I'd agree.

People have mentioned the door in the past. I saw it there over a year ago, but since I saw it indoors it was tough to judge if the door paint matched the rest of the paint on neighboring body panels. I would say if a buyer is just going to drive the wheels off a 328 and doesn't care about its cosmetics then maybe this is a great car for that kind of person. I love the color, but for me to be happy with it, it would have needed a lot of cosmetic work.

I hear ya. One I got mine the door didn't match either.
It took a complete repaint of the car to become happy !
