    Hear are some of the one I owned long ago. It was factory original with carbs (various clear documentary evidence, the air box presumably was discarded somewhen before my ownership). The purchase price was about 32k, nearly two decades ago, after a "full restoration" by the prior owner, though not with best efforts/skills. The first three owners did not seem to really have liked the car, in 1967 the car was taken of the road by the third one and stayed there, until it reappeared in an advert in the late 80s.

    Cheers, Bernhard

    Bernhard, your silver Sebring I is the later type. Do you happen to remember the VIN?
    Thanks,

    Larry, the year of first registration is 1963 or 1964 (first owner residing in Frankfurt, Germany) and the VIN (not sure whether I recall it correctly) may be AM 101-1777 (definitely not a 101/10 number).

    Cheers, Bernhard

    P.S.: It was labelled "3500 GT" on the car and in all documents, i.e. no "I" or "S" . The exhaust was not in the sill, as was with the very early ones. Engine with matching (=identical) number.

    Bernhard, thanks for the info. The VIN must be 101.01777. All Sebring I's start with the number '0'. Do you have any more photos or info on it? I didn't have it in my database.
    Regards,
    Larry

    Correct, I left the "0" away, since it does not "count" anyway.

    Sorry, no other information or detail photos further than above, I passed all the documentation, including original registration documents from new and history so far I discovered, to the buyer at that time and kept nothing else than a few photos (others than above are "analog" only), a model car and pleasant memories (mostly :D).

    Cheers, Bernhard

    P.S.: I bought it more than 2 decades ago, not "nearly" (correction of above)

    Out of curiousity I recently wrote Fabio Collina to inguire whether any Sebrings were actually delivered with automatic transmission.
    Fabio C.s answer was that no less than six (6) Sebring series IIs were produced with the then specified auto transmission.
    No series Is.
    I wonder if anyone has seen or heard of these cars?
    My guess is that all of them were delivered to the US of A, holy land of the slushbox :)
    kind regards,
    fidjeland

    Niklas

    Ps yes this car is for me to keep.. i have sold too many cars too early so I have learned my lessons

    Nilas, If first sold in Belgium then Hasselblad can´t have been the first owner. I was missinformed. But maybe the first in Sweden? And the most famous owner in next to yourself :) of course ? Jan

    Hello Everyone,
    My name is Rudolf Mkhitaryan (residing in the UK) and I'm new to Maserati World. I recently purchased 1966 3700 GTIS in California through Beverley Hill Cars Club. Not in the best condition but quite complete except minor details I hope I'll be able to find. I know it comes pricy but I'd like control comprehensive restoration to avoid "future surprises". It came in red exterior; brown/cream leather interior which is not original; wrong seats patten; wire wheels but not borrani, wrong size tyres. So, it's a long project for couple of years at list but it's what I wanted.

    There is some information for your database confirmed by Fabio Collina:

    Complete matching numbers: AM101/10*287*
    Produced: 4 January 1966; First delivered: 19 February 1966 to Milan;
    First owner: Boiocchi Lamiere S.r.l.; Color: Argento Auteuil/ Red PAC 1603;

    I wasn't able to get information when and how it left Italy and got to California. But I have:
    - blu Californian number plate 091 ANK with red tag of 1973;
    - a letter sent 23 June 1982 by Bud Miller (1344 Roxbury Dr №3, LA, California, 90035) confirming sale of the car to Jim Thynne;
    - Title on names of James E Thynne and his wife Carol (West Covina, California) -last owner before myself;
    - Philip Yanni confirmed that Jim was member of the Maserati Club through 1992-1997;

    The car arrived to the UK in May 2016.

    I'd love to know If you have heard anything abut this car before.

    Thank you to Larry Ruben for helping me to find correct missing parts.

    few photos bellow by dealer

    The W in the number plate indicates a dealer (or manufacturer) plate (but that's not the point.. it just doesn't allow for a more precise dating like a normal plate would). The picture must have been taken after March 1963 (there is a 230SL to be seen in the street).
    If the colour is Metallic grey (but that would probably be darker/more blueish), it is the first car imported to France, in November 62: 101.01.479
    If the colour is "Grigio Fiat" (it certainly does not look like Grigio Inglewood), then it is 101 01 597, January 1963. (but not 01 691, also in Grigio Fiat, as this car was bought in France but exported to Belgium.., and it had wire wheels). If the colour is Gris Albany, then it could be 01.731, belonging to an industrialist in the Loire region. If it's none of those, it's not a French car.
    Does anybody have a Grigio Fiat sample?

    While in Modena last year to collect my Granturismo from the factory, I called in to the Museo Enzo Ferrari (well worth a visit if you are there and only half a mile from the Maserati factory) and there, among the mouthwatering collection of Ferraris, was a solitary Maserati:

    hi all,
    I am not the specialist of Sebring models, but to help a friend restoring his Sebring, I would like to see some fotos of the interior of the trunk of a series II car. Especially both sides (left and right) as well the center behind the seats would be very interesting.

    Please provide only fotos of cars with original material or restored to the originality.

    Thank you
    Alfred

    Hi Alfred,
    Look at photos of AM1011/10-367, a car restored by Epifany/sold by Fantasy Junction a few years back. Fairly original. I also have a series II that has been restored to original specs, if you require further info. Kind regards, Jan

    Hi Jan,
    thank you for finding this car. But this is NOT a COMPLETE original car as I would like to see. As you wrote, the car was restored, and in my mind there are some details far away from originality, though the car in general looks nice.

    Someone else in this forum who can provide fotos of the trunk of a COMPLETELY UNRESTORED original Sebring II ?

    Regards Alfred

    hi awohlmann and bluebottle, interesting discussion Sebring originality!During the period that the Sebring was in production Maserati had other models in parallell production. My theory is that especially trim specifications varied greatly through the years. The factory probably used what was lying about. Look also at how the Maserati Sebring lettering is applied. What is "original"?Let´s accept the fact that these cars are lovingly hand built and so much better because of that fact. kind regard, jan

    And up until just recently, when Granturismo production at Modena finished, they still were. When I toured the factory in September 2015, prior to driving away in my new Maserati, every operation bar one (applying the glue to the windscreen) in the build of a Granturismo and Grancabrio was done by hand.

    That is no longer the case: each car that goes along the production line from one workstation to the next, is followed by a trolley containing a "kit of parts" specific to that car (see photos below). However, in days gone by, I have no doubt that it was exactly as you describe.
