I got it a couple weeks ago, it's a small softbound publication which I read in about two hours or so. Just another item to dust off on the shelf.

Is there something a little weird for a doctor to write a book about two of his former patients?
Maybe it's just me, but I find it strange, bordering on unethical.
I could be totally wrong not having read the book however.

That was my first reaction too, but when I thought about it, depending upon how much medical detail is revealed, it might be ok. Maybe he’s writing more about the personal (vs. professional) relationship from a perspective that hasn’t been known before.

Agree John, don't doctors sign a non disclosure document or as part of their Hippocratic oath have to keep patients personal information private, not go and write a book about it.

Like I said, maybe he doesn’t discuss medical issues, and only talks about them as people (celebrities).
Without having read the book, I’ll have to wait and see.

Maybe someone who has read the book could chime in on that one.

I doubt that privacy and confidentiality in those days were as strictly defined and observed as they (supposedly) are today. It’s been more than thirty years since Enzo died, he was definitely a public figure, and he lived in a place and time where such things were more casual, so one might say he’s “fair game” as far as biographers are concerned. As John said, I’ll wait to read some reviews before I buy it.

I've read the book and there are some disclosures, like Enzo's use of antidepressants, that are likely not in keeping with current privacy standards. Having said that, the book does not give the impression that the author is someone with a score to settle or trying to be provocative with a "tell-all" laying out anything and everything salacious. It seems like the author genuinely respected Enzo and Laura Ferrari, even if his understanding of patient privacy is from a very different time and place.

He definitely discusses their medical issues, and it's quite interesting that he links Dino's muscular dystrophy to Laura's illnesses. I found the book quite interesting with its comments on various aspects of their lives, especially in the last 20 years or so of their lives. I'm pleased that I bought it.

A year and a half ago I attended the Bonhams auction at the Simeone Museum in Philadelphia. My wife's final words to me before leaving home were "don't bring home any more books." I bought 300 and should have bought more.

Really nothing rare or special. I think that the collection is fully priced at the moment.

+1, and without reading the whole inventory, I only see a few rare or expensive titles..

You guys watch for my Estate Sale as once past Ferrari, I tend to focus more on the art of motorsports, either in paintings or photography, or driver's biography.
In my small space I seem to have the same problem as Kieth!

Boxed up four cartons of nice books and labeled: "Keep dry"..

    Waiting for happier times.
