... as long as there is some Ferrari connection to a post in this forum nothing is off topic buddy (and often even if there isn't one too ).

Maybe they converted with the decimal in the wrong place and it is only $416.00 I know wishful thinking...
just like Apple collects 'The Apple Tax' on it's products, Ferrari does likewise on all of it's products.
yes and no as it seems the owners were offered the 'build book' which shows their personal Monza SP1 or SP2 build specification being assembled in the factory. All beautifully presented in a hardcover book just for them. Though no idea whether the factory did extra copies for their own private records or not.
Question is, is there a market for two great Ferrari Breadvan books? Marc and Keith's book is excellent. I don't know what extra information the new book could cover (especially as it shares an author). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you Mark. Well this is the announcement I alluded to a day or two ago, I did not want to rudely break the embargo. In early 2019 the current owner of the Breadvan, an Austrian, contacted me about buying the rights for the book we did with Keith a decade ago. We had a meeting at Retromobile right after that. I suggested my Publisher, Eau Rouge Publishing, but he decided he wanted to used Porter Press as publisher. I had a great meeting with Philip Porter in London that April, at a café in Sloane square, very pleasant, impressively productive, however as a rule he likes to mix interview portions in the main text which I feel dilutes them to oblivion whereas I like to keep interviews whole so the reader gets to sit in and really get a feel for the person and we all know so many are/were great characters. In view of that and of the price the Breadvan owner was willing to pay for the rights I chose not to participate further though of course the new book mentions that my research and interviews were mined as agreed. Richard Heseltine, a talented young English journalist did the bulk of the work with Keith as consultant. Volpi is not ageing well (and had one of his Venice Palazzos confiscated for back taxes!) so declined their request for a fresh interview no matter how many times they pleaded for it. I have only seen the summary and look forward to getting it. FYI I get ten copies so will be selling nine. The book is being launched at the Goodwood festival this weekend.
Hi, has anyone any thoughts, good bad or indifferent on the book " Dino. The V6 Ferrari " by author Brian Long? I was told it is out of print and have a chance of getting one still in its wrapper. Thanks in advance.
I can’t comment on that book in particular but I have several of Long’s books and think they are worthwhile. Perhaps someone else here has the Dino book or is a Dino expert.
New copies are still available from booksellers for around $50 USD. It's The Compendium or nothing for me.
Finally available at Porter Press: Ultimate Ferrari 250 GTO - The Definitive History Just bought mine. I have a feeling this will sellout quickly...
I guess it depends on what information you're after. Here's the synopsis of Dino. The V6 Ferrari " by Brian Long Features The definitive record of the little V6 Ferrari and its Fiat sibling Dino - named after Enzo's son Full year-by-year coverage of production models American and European markets covered in great detail Special variants covered in full, including Fiat versions Rare prototype photographs Over 250 contemporary pictures, mainly in colour In addition to photographs, contemporary advertising and brochures have been used Useful appendices supplement detailed text Buyer's guide I agree with Bruce, The Dino Compendium is the definitive book on the Dino 206/246 but the price is now a major factor.
