Check the very first post of this very thread for the list of editions and years. Out of the five, the fourth (blue) 1987 Italian edition is considered most valuable, much more so than the first edition, as it is the last official Ferrari factory book authored by Enzo that was published during his lifetime, it could be valued up to 10 times the others (I've seen some listed/sold for $1500-2000). Depending on condition, about $200 is a fair estimate for the other editions, which are relatively less rare.

Just sold my 330/P4 and Ferrari 1947-1997 SI, both mint, on Ebay. Prices on Ebay are not what they were evenone year ago.

Una Vita is not particularly rare as it is a modern edition, but it's a very nice book and was a very worth-while addition to my collection. I saw the prices on it vary quite wildly, so shopping around definitely pays off (it is one of the more affordable ones in the set, considering several of the books listed can cost upwards of $1,000).

I was sniped. My high bid of $750.01 was good until 5 seconds to go.
    Sold for $760.01.

Paul - Always sucks to be outbid at the last minute, I guess that's why I normally only bid at the last minute. This morning I was outbid on a GTO book, to be honest I totally forgot I was bidding on it, so it was my own fault.

Have you considered the other copy of Ferrari In Camera on eBay right now with a buy it now of $875? Obviously it's more than you wanted to pay, but still a good price. It's about the same price as when they were new and I can tell you that this book is just superb, without a doubt one of the best books in my collection.

That's a good price. I paid over $1K for my copy a few years ago.

When I get back at the end of April, will be selling more books and stuff. Some early Automobile Years, first three years complete of Automobile Quarterly's. Also Forza collection including issues #1-3. All my Cavallinos. R&Ts from the 1960s, etc.

Also have a complete set of the best model car magazine ever, Motor Racing Replica News by Michael Quarterman. Includes an index issue.

Still deciding about the stain glass Ferrari lamp shade, and the really special 1/24 Ferrari models like the GTO Evoluzione and Fangios D50. The last to go will be the parts to assemble a 1/18th pit diorama of Michael, Rubens, in their 2001 Monza black nose Ferraris with 18 pit crew figures.

I am actually considering selling my collection of about 100 1970s race driver photos that I took, had enlarged, and then autographed. Graham Hill, Peter Revson, Colin Chapman, Hulme, Holbert, Hurtibise, Peter Gregg, Lauda, Jody, Stewart, Cevert, Ronnie Peterson, Icyks, Mario, AJ, Petty, Allison, Emmo, Patrese, viritually every well known driver in the early to mid 70s, mostly helmet on, visor up.

Also have a life size Serta Mattress sheep, comes with a Ferrari hat signed by MS. His name is Michael Sheepmacher.

Just can't move all of this.

Let me know if you decide to part with the lamp.. I'm designing a Ferrari man cave (aka office) in the house for my husband, to display the book and memorabilia collection, I was considering doing a custom Lamp in a Box with a print of his choice, but a stained-glass lamp would be so much nicer. Just ordered this desk for fun, need to see how it works out..

LOL at Michael Sheepmacher - need pictures!! :)

"Brown" just dumped these on my porch today! I'll dig into them this weekend and (fair warning) bore everybody with my impressions.

Hope Brown comes and visits me today - will be worth the long drive home to see a package on my doorstep.

Is there a "mancave" thread? My library is now overflowing!

What do you consider to be the 12 books that are indispensible to a Ferrari library?

I guess it would depend on your interest road vs race or a combination of both, but I would like to start the list off with:

Ferrari Testa Rossa V12 by Joel E Finn

    For reference purposes only:

    Ferrari di Pininfarina
    Making a Difference
    Ferrari: The Road Cars
    Ferrari: The Sport Prototypes
Ferrari: 40 Years on the Road
    Ferrari by Vignale
    Ferrari by Zagato
    Ferrari by Mailander
    Ferrari in Camera
    Emotion Ferrari
Red Arrows - Ferrari at the Mille Miglia

    Only eleven I know...

I guess you could then go on to biographies on Enzo, the one by Richard Williams, the heavily criticised version by Yates, of course the various versions of Piloti che genti, Ferrari 80 and many others.

There are some excellent books on individual models:

250 Le Mans by Massini (although now quite dated)
The Osprey series of books on the likes of the 308 series, the Boxer series, the 275, the 250 GTO.
Bluemel & Pourret's work on the GTO is a must, and Beehl's tome on the Boxer series is worth having.
The Cavalleria series although not perfect are nice.

The list would go on and on. It is very difficult to constrict the list to twelve. It really depends upon ones specific interests.

I have 'Mailander' and 'Red Arrows'....good call!

'Mon Ami Mate' is a good read, though not "Ferrari" by title....

    I like Phil Hill's 'A Champion's View.'...

'At The Limit' on Mason's cars has some great Ferraris tested....

Paul, 12 was just an arbitrary number to sort of limit the list to the "essentials", something I realize is virtually impossible.
