Finished reading this book a week or so ago. I very much enjoyed it, one of the books I will recommend to my car nut friends. Fun fact, Randy and I grew up in the same town (never met however).
Clearly there were enough drugs left over to fuel whoever designed the cover! If that is the final cover then clearly there were some drugs left over for whoever "designed" it!
It's the Porter book. Yes, the cover is very disappointing (just compare it to the fabulous 250 LM cover recently posted in this thread). Nevertheless: I am convinced Keith Bluemel has done everything he can to overcome that with a well-researched and well-written text. Maybe, next time, he should also make the cover ;-)
No, the Lanier book with the very busy cover. I think the F40 cover is ok for the standard edition imho. Very of it's day. The Randy Lanier cover however....
Well, I really wanted to like Collecting Automobilia... Unfortunately, my actual experience with bidding today left plenty to be desired. Unlike Automobilia Ladenburg and Ni-Cola, their "minimum bid" and reserve price are not the same thing. Even worse, they don't initially disclose that their is a reserve. If I had know, I would have likely saved my time and taken a pass on the whole thing. As it is, you only find out about it once you have placed a bid. Finally, raising your max bid amount is definitely not advisable, as their platform appears to allow you to bid against yourself. All told, with only one single exception, absolutely nothing sold in their initial round of offerings. Unless they substantially revise their current platform, I know that I will not be back.
The new 288 GTO book by Jürgen Lewandowski will be presented at the Drivers Club at Motor World in Munich, Germany, 19 October 2022. Marcel Massini
There's even another one from 2007. I'm not sure if it's a full member of the series but I think you can call it #7 1/2 or 7 2/3. I have never seen it myself. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, it really does have a certain, almost architectural, beauty about it. I've got some sort of mental block about shelves that often cost more than the books resting on them, but there is no denying that it looks absolutely spectacular!
According to recent discussions on the other "collections" thread it seems IKEA bookshelves are still more expensive then many Ferrari books if sold in large auction lots.
