Very true! Case in point, the books inscribed to Phil Hill discussed earlier. For everything else, though, it's almost always a bit off-putting. When your name is Bill, you are probably not particularly inclined to pay out significantly for something dedicated to Bob...

This seems odd that they’re introducing a version with far fewer pages than the original. This is the first I’ve heard of the Apple TV series based in the book, though.
English version originally published by David Bull, a belter of a book! Unfortunately after the passing away of David Bull, the publishing house seems to be in a selling out mode, which is a real shame.
Going against the current trend of offering highly priced special editions. Incredible lot of valuable info for 38 Euro....
Is this not just the same Luca Dal Monte book that Bull published moving to a different publisher for obvious reasons. I'm under the impression that all David Bulls stock was purchased and is now being sold off, albeit under the same David Bull banner
Agreed, can't beat the original version. One of the all time classics on the subject. With book shelf space so precious for many of us I personally can't even afford to look at re release.
In the future, perhaps you might want to purchase PP books from a trusted retailer such as Cotswold Road & Race, who are providing me a discount from list price and shipping at actual cost. They say they have already procured copies of the F40 book with Mr. Bluemel's inscription. FWIW PP did replace my damaged 250GTO slipcase. I elected not to have them replace my book that had minor blemishes on the cover because the copy number had significance to me. So overall I was satisfied with their response to the manufacturing problems.
Here is the link if you haven't seen it to the new F40 book Marcel was referring to. Seems we have gone through the period of excess of 250 GTO books and now it's the F40's time to be overwritten about. Is anyone buying both this and the Porter Press book ? https://www.giorgionadaeditore.it/en/cars/ferrari/ferrari-f40.html
Not really, He wrote a book called Ferrari GT cars some years ago and has also authored books on other Italian cars. This link shows the Ferrari GT cars book and if you click on his name it shows you his other books https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ferrari-GT-Cars-Gaetano-DeRosa/dp/0760301948/ref=sr_1_6
And don't forget Cyrille Jaquinot's F40 book, which recentley appeared in English translation. So, we have three new books on the topic, which try to kick Werner Schruf's great book from the throne. I will pick only one of them for reasons of space and budget. But which one it will be has still to be decided I shall be happy to hear opinions.
Stick with the Schruf book (a hard act to follow), and maybe Bluemel. I've seen the Jaquinot book and found it very expensive for what it is. A bilingual Nada book, well we've been there before.
I agree. I have the Schruf book (unfortunately can't read German) and I've got the Bluemel book on the way. I think together with the Osprey F40 book, Inside Ferrari by Michael Dregni, Automobilia's F40 and the original brochure (which is almost the same thing ), I have the F40 story covered.
Speaking of F40 books there's also the one by Automobilia (Italy) plus the one from Japan (Genroq Exclusive). And Supercars F40 by Mark Hughes (Salamander). Marcel Massini
Interesting question, are there any books which cover the SuperAmerica series of cars in any great detail, I am not referring the 575 SA..
Marcel, the one from Japan was printed from several publishers or is the Libreria Scuderia another book? Image Unavailable, Please Login
You mean 410 Superamerica and 400 Super America? If 410 SA then the softbound book by fchatter Dyke W. Ridgley (aka DWR46) is TOP. There's also the book by Automobilia, Italy. Marcel Massini
Different publication. I am talking about the one by Genroq Exclusive, Japan. Editor Masaru Noguchi. Published 2008 by San-ei Shobo Publishing Co. Ltd., black cover, comes in a red slipcase. 168 pages. They printed 1315 copies. Mine is #0118. Title: Ferrari F40. The Story.
