Hahahaha I actually don't mind my collection of Automobila "one model" series of books. They were the first expensive Ferrari books I ever bought new back in the mid 1980's and as a younger guy here in Australia felt as if I had something very European in my hands being a tri language publication. They are quite dated now (basically extracts of sales brochures and owners manuals with additional descriptive text) but at the time I thought they were THE books to own.
That is an exceptional exception to the rule. So are the Bentley Continental R, 500/600 SEC and Diablo in that same series. Still hunting for the Sport Quattro, 959 and 300 SL for a decent price.
They are decent, at best. I started collecting Ferrarissima back in the days and only finished the 'old' and New Series because I did not want to give up. Not for the quality...
I like them too on exactly that point, long years back i thought they are a kind of must have but they have their charme, nice to great pics, a lot of drafts and i have enough book shelf space that they can live with me some years more. And these i love much more and are trilingual… Image Unavailable, Please Login And please no jokes about the Alpina book at the side and my obvious more than bad sorting will do this after the move to another house… Happy New Year to all the bookworms!
No apology needed for the Alpina book—I just wish that it was more informative. Alpina really merits something better.
+1 but i‘m sure there will be written a new one in some time, now were Alpina „ends‘. Can‘t wait to pick up my last new car from them next month.
Some years ago now**, I found that the different European Amazon sites each had a few new copies of Cavalleria volumes but different ones at the different Amazon sites (i.e. Amazon UK, France and Germany). So, I was able to acquire new copies of most of the volumes at reduced prices (although I had to pay higher prices elsewhere for the last two). In fact, I see Amazon France does still have three of the volumes available if anyone is after them***. Reduced from RRP although more than I paid but still 45 Euros each is half what Hortons are asking for used copies of the same three volumes. Note that, the one I have just looked at says French language but, as mentioned above, the text is actually in English, French and Italian. **Amazon UK shows me it was 2010 that I purchased five volumes (250 GT, P3/412P, 375 Plus, 250 TR and 250 GTO). I bought other volumes from Amazon France and, I think, Amazon Germany. *** 375 Plus (4 in stock), 500 F2 (5 in stock) and 375 F1 (5 in stock) at 45 Euros each
It took me quite a bit of time to get the full set, proceeding as you mention at the beginning, but then there are some numbers (5, 10, 16) which took a bit more time and moneys... but the Cavalleria set is really well done. They should have extended it to more of the cars from the collection.
Does anyone have any more information on Porter Press's Ultimate Ferrari Daytona publication ? Release date or any info ?
I don't know when it is due. Luca del Monte is writing about the road cars and Keith Bluemel about the competition cars. Ultimate likely refers as much to the price as to the content
There were also announcements for volumes about the Ferrari Uovo and the Ferrari 250/275P but with no news neither since a while
Last year in March, the Porter newsletter said that del Monte was making "great progress". Since then, no mention of the book in the newsletter updates.
Also no mention from Porter of the Chinetti/N.A.R.T. book since they announced Doug Nye’s involvement about three months ago.
This year Porter Press seems to have a great offering of Ferrari books in the pipeline. Let's see how many come to fruition.... and at what price
I also received mine yesterday. It’s excellent. In the same shipment I received a copy of Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/1967 by Patrick Dasse, but it arrived with a crushed corner. I emailed Autobooks yesterday to ask for a replacement.

I am trying to contact David Bill Publishing however the number I have never works. Anyone have the correct number please. Many thanks.
The facebook page seems to be active so you might try that. There’s a phone number there too. Ask them if they really are going to publish the NART/Chinetti book. (I’m not a facebook member so I can’t post the question).
