What a pity! Appreciated your posts. It was indeed a shameless comment by Mr. Massini ("Germans are always right"). Incomprehensible from his side.
Thank you very much for your kind words! I received very kind responses to all this. So, at least, I started reading again
I was disappointed when you said you were leaving. But I still follow you on IG where you tend to show much more. Glad to see you reconsidered.
As I said to you privately Sven, I wouldn't give someone the satisfaction of leaving a forum you enjoy. Glad to have you back. You're one us that has a real passion for quality books and literature.
Glad you came back, Sven. As a respected member of this group you belong here with your knowledge of and passion for books. I look forward to meeting you in/around Stuttgart soon. Natan
Savvy review. As much as we can regret the passing of the -initial- author and of the publisher it has had the unexpected but positive effect of generating two books instead of just one. This subject certainly deserves two viewpoints.
I regret that the moderators don't make their job on your personal attack. The moderators have a lot of work to do in this area. Glad you changed your mind.
To be honest I'd rather members sort it out between themselves rather then have potential "nanny" moderators interfere (unless things get out of control).
For sur, I agree, you have a great option in the System FCHAT to swicht somebody. Lost a member is the last. Bullying, racism, free provocation, must be zero tolerance in a forum.
I'm sure very few will disagree; that said, the "incident" in question is hardly any of those. It was a misunderstanding that led to a comment which barely registers on the "offensive" scale, now Buchpilot's back, let's talk about books instead.
Anyone who visited the Peter Collins exhibition in Worcester in 2023/24 will have seen a fantastic display of letters and photographs from what had been the private collection of his wife Louise. Some of those pictures and letters have now been incorporated into a book which was launched earlier this month at Race Retro. There are very few books about Peter Collins (I think only two) and I am very pleased with this one which I ordered earlier this week. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just bought the English version. It not only depicts and describes the Ferraris of this special exhibition, but also quite a bit of Ferrari history in general with lots of period pictures. I haven´t read it yet, so can´t tell if it's worth the read. Edit: I'm referring to the book about the Ferrari exhibition at the Nationales Auto Museum, The Loh Collection, held last year.
I have just made a little infidelity to Ferrari, Enzo will forgive me - He will have other ...- Lamborghini's "catalogue résoné" for its 35 years of existence. 1,200,000 lires in 1998 notice: A Special Edition is made with leather-bound and 100 numbered copies. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I have the same but non leather version on my shelf. Not as many great Lambo books as there are Ferrari, and to be honest most are older books. In contrast, there are many currently produced Ferrari books that are potential future classics.
Hi Mark, yes is the same copy. Mine was bought some years ago when I was in Firenze (Florence, Italia) with my wife. It was a old library near the cathedral.
Must have been the very same fine bookshop where I bought this book for a very good price many years ago: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login I remember having been astonished and delighted about the fine choice of older motor books there - but at the same time was sad that I couldn't take more books with me as I was just passing by on my travel (by train!) through Tuscany.
