Very possible. For that reason, I was not displeased to see the David Bull book published. In the end, it may be all we actually get.
Evro now says the Ferrari “photobiography” will be published in “early 2026.” This is a book that I ordered from amazon in 2019.
I see Taschen have a Ferrari book out in September, edited by Pino Allievi https://www.taschen.com/en/books/architecture-design/09901/ferrari/ I wonder if this is the same as the very expensive Ferrari book they published previously only without the Marc Newson stand?
Most certainly it is the same. Because that's what TASCHEN has been doing all the time: publishing expensive, limited collector books, and once they are sold out publishing a "civil" cheap edition of them. I paid much money for limited editions of the "Stanley Kubrick Archives" and the "Godfather Family Album" only to be confronted with cheap editions for a fraction of the price of both later on (which hadn't been announced in advance!). When I complained to them, I received a very arrogant, dismissive answer by TASCHEN. I never bought any book from them again.
That's insane. So I can buy the same book (contents wise) as the over the top TASCHEN Ferrari book with a normal cover and no silly engine case of US$150 ?? Shut up and take my money !!!!!!
The new "cheap" version of the Taschen book has 688 pages, size 28 x 27,4 cm. The collector's book has 514 pages and a size of 32,4 x 43,2 cm. That's 150 pages more !
Hello Balsamina, Sorry, I've only just seen this post! Apologies and I hope you like the new book. It was a very enjoyable three years of research...
I got the two new volumes today and first glance is very favorable. I don't know how much of the work is actually Tim's but to me the content that I've seen so far matches up well with the first three books. And they arrived in perfect condition from DBP.
Announced to be published in May 2026: Image Unavailable, Please Login Serge Bellu, All The Ferraris The Ferrari Bible: A Complete Guide to Over 600 Models From the official description: "A landmark volume chronicling every model that Ferrari has ever produced over the past 75 years." Publisher: Cassell Plc
Quote of the day! I saw the book for real during a car exhibition in Basel/Switzerland almost exactly 7 years ago. When I saw the price and the bookstand with that toylike "engine" I immmediately thought "Why not? A sucker is born every minute". When I dared to have a look inside I thought "o.k. I,would pay €100.00". The look inside though was roughly interrupted by a fierce looking dumbass in a black suit, who disciplined me with a "Don't touch" in a hard to understand "Schwyzerdütsch". This means "Swiss German". And although living roughly 60mls. north of the swissborder, talking a similar dialect, I didn't understand the rest of his speech. At least I pretented to do so O.k., they wanted to export the Exhibition to Miami and Hongkong, but the entrance fee was so hefty, that they went bankrupt before, because hardly anyone came to attend the show. Except me. Did I already say "a sucker is born every minute"? But the cars shown were great and I never could take pictures so relaxed. The most annoying experience was that with the Taschen books dude. Best from Germany Martin+
Sorry, I was off of Fchat for a while. Can you lead me to the original, topic / discussion? Thanks Martin
Image Unavailable, Please Login The Kickstarter starts today ;-) https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thespottingguide/the-ferrari-250-gto-spotting-guide I'm very excited... and a little scared, because now it's all or nothing. I need at least 250 orders to start printing, and I have 45 days to reach that goal. Of course, to do that, I'll have to communicate. I'm a little behind schedule, but I have a plan of action – fingers crossed. A big thank you to those of you who have already ordered it and to all those who are about to do so. Feel free to spread the word, to your friends, in clubs, etc. This is a big challenge for me, and the more I sell, the more likely I am to write a second book of the same kind ;-) PS: Yes, there are a few small typos on some pages. In addition to promoting the book, my plan for the next month is to check every date, every number, every driver's name... In short, to proofread everything in detail!
Two questions. Seems to be the same price for the first 250 which are numbered and signed and the rest which are not. When it says 236/250 please advise if that means 14 or 236 sold. Thanks.
Hello, yes, the price is the same for the signed and standard versions, but there will only be 250 signed and numbered copies. This is a way of thanking the first 250 customers, without whom the project would not be possible, with a slightly special version of the book. I don't want to earn more money because I signed a book... I've actually reduced the final price of the book a little to a rate that I think is more attractive. Yes, there are still plenty left! The number indicates the number of copies remaining – but don't delay ;-) I can see the order in which the orders were placed and the copies will be numbered accordingly. The customer who placed order no. 2 told me they were a little annoyed, ha !
Interesting to hear! When I stayed in Portsmouth last month during my holiday in England, the local bookshop had a copy. I looked through it and read a few text lines. But in the end I was skeptical and didn't buy it. Maybe a mistake?
I have read the same author's book on the Bentley Boys (Racing in the Dark) and enjoyed it but it was a subject I didn't know much about beyond the basics. I hesitated over Superveloce because I wondered if it would tell me much that was new. But now I've been prompted to read some reviews and a bit of the sample text on Amazon I am rather tempted.
