Dear Maarten and Jack, The English version of "Forghieri on Ferrari" is available! I got a message from the bookstore in Hilversum that they have it in stock. Ciao! Olaf Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks, Olaf. I'll check on US availability now. Jack Edit: Amazon still showing May 1 availability here.
Hello guys. I'm looking for the ''Cavalleria number 5'' book which talks about the F4O LM. Does anybody know where i will find it? Thank you in advance.
That was quite the awesome series, long out of print...I have them all. No. 1 thru 16.. Your best hope is to check in with the rare book dealers, Albaco, TE Warth, Abe Books, and monitor Amazon and eBay.....they DO turn up from time to time, except that was a very popular model, and given the value no one will break the set.. It the time of publication they were $75USD each, but that was a long time ago! Good luck! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I see. I made a little search in google and i found some interesting covers of the the Cavalleria series.! Well i will start with Amazon and i hope that something will come up. Thank you Bubba.
If I run across one I will let you know, but I have not seen a "new' one for sale in years, except at the dealers named above.... Good luck! Or drop by, you can read mine over a beer.......
A while back there was some discussion of Ferrari's Big Red Book (Enzo Ferrari's 1974 presentation book). I have a copy that is surplus to my needs listed on eBay starting at a penny right now. If this post upsets any of the moderators, please feel free to remove it.
Does anyone know if there are any plans to update the above 250 GTO book? Thanks in advance for any replies.
Thanks a lot Bubba for the invitation, very kind of you but i live in Europe. I will start looking in Albaco. In the others that you suggested me i didn't find anything. Hope dies last....
Later this year there will be a book (incl. DVD) published about the Dutch Grand Prix Samples: Grand Prix Zandvoort Hugo
And a new Klemantaski book expected in September. The Motor Racing Photography of Louis Klemantaski This handsome book presents 400 photographs from the incredible work of the late Louis Klemantaski, one of the most celebrated, versatile and famous motor racing photographers. From the mid-1930s when he photographed the great and the good at Brooklands, Donington, hillclimbs and even some continental Grands Prix to the gradual recovery post-war and his incredible 1950s Mille Miglia rides with Aston Martin and Ferrari, Klem was in the thick of it. The book is structured chronologically, with chapters devoted to periods of Klemantaski s work, accompanied by insightful commentary by the author. Contents: Lavishly produced in a large, landscape format with one photo per page and accompanying commentary. Stunning photography from a master of his art. Fascinating commentary for each photograph, from an author with an in-depth knowledge of the period. A nostalgic look at a golden era of motor racing. Published 100 years after the birth of Louis Klemantaski. Produced in collaboration with the Klemantaski Collection. Hugo Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's GREAT news! I'm still happy to have the purchase of his first title...note that cover shot became the famous cover of "Politi Che Gente' various printings, of Peter Collins at the wheel.
Dear members, Last year, the Italian language version of this book was issued. Unfortunately a lot of people all over the world do not read Italian. Therefore the publishers issued an English written version of the book. It was supposed to be on sale from May of 2013 but is has already been released! I saw it at my Carbooks & Modelcars shop in Hilversum, The Netherlands. Ciao! Zagatlaf
Meanwhile, Amazon just pushed back the on sale date from May to July. Nothing ever seems to be straightforward or logical with Nada's books.
or with amazon. Still 28th April on german amazon. And some months ago they still stated a new Alfa romeo racing cars book as 'not yet published' while fourty or fifty third party sellers already offered it for months. Best Regards from Germany Martin
It's a great book. Nice large size, 220pgs. Great photos and really good selection of cars, road, race and F1. But it is basically a photographic book - not a lot of text, Nathan
IMHO this is a must have book if you are interested in what really happened at Ferrari in the 60/70s. Forghieri talks about racing developments and explains why Ferrari did, and didn't do, certain developments. Plenty of photos and technical diagrams. Mainly about racing, of course, but if that's your thing then you'll be pleased with this book. Nathan
I wonder how many of you have seen this book. It's not new, but I think it's quite rare. It's the storyboard for a film about Ferrari's 1961 season, but the film was never made. Quite an interesting read, although it is faction. Interesting graphics but a certain amount of repetition. The cover is red cloth, with a printed aluminium plate on the front and a plain aluminium plate on the rear. It came boxed with a 1:43rd model of the 156/F1 sharknose. Thanks for your reply! Not that interested in the race and F1 cars. Especially the road cars. Are most road cars featured in this book? I also found that the same photographer is coming with a new book called 'The Ferrari Book'.
