    Right now, at 11:57 AM EST, the count shows 9,909,846 which is 366 less than yesterday. Is this result of some change in the F1 forum referred to above?

    Fewer arguments in F1 can't result in posts disappearing. Old threads in the Classifieds section, however, do fall off after a certain period of time.

    beats me how we can have fewer post count. I delete old classifieds and eBay ads, but haven't done it in awhile.

    Off Topic posts don't add to user totals and I've never been able to figure out if it goes towards site totals.

    I would really like to know how total can go backwards. A couple days ago I did delete about 2,000 posts out of the Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale forum.

    Then we definitely went backward sometime in the past 24 hours. Strange, especially since we should have gained 2100 posts. This means we lost somewhere in excess of 2600 posts.

    Well, I'm out. Short by 60,916 posts at 9:32 PM today.

    Based on recent posting trends over the last 1-2 weeks, and assuming the trend holds, it looks like Steelman might end up coming closest to projecting the time and date for the 10 million postings mark. Time will tell.
