I sat in a coupe with no issues and had a few more inches available and I am just over 6 feet tall. Forget the Spyder as I barely fit in it, although it sounds great with the top down.
not enough headroom in a convertible? I’m 6’ and have plenty of headroom in a Spyder with top up. 6’6” maybe a different matter
You can't push the seat back far enough for long legs due to the fuel tank and spyder top being right behind the seat. You did not know that
^^^ I don't know what to say..... Edit; F1tommy, do you still have your 6mt Spyder? and are you active over on ML? I have been compiling a list of known 6mt cars over there, and wonder if I have yours on my list. Thanks, Ed.
I go on the site from time to time as they have alot of technical threads about the cars. My 6 speed GT Spyder is sorted out so not that much to do but still interesting to know everything about the cars. No reason to sell as they are not worth anything anyway. Even good examples like mine go for next to nothing. I know that will change someday as the internet discovers them again, but I don't plan on selling it anyway. It's still a buyers market, but I have noticed 6 speeds GT's are now very hard to find with low miles. Bullet proof car other than maybe the convertible top straps and small stuff.
Owned a Gransport for 3 years (still regret selling it…). I’m 6’4 and had no problems whatsoever. Also did trackdays w helmet so should be ok for you. Happy hunting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Autotrader has this pretty nice but not super low mile 2002 GT manual in res/tan, one of 574 GT manuals. Lets' see how fast it sells... Used 2002 Maserati Spyder GT for sale in MARIETTA, GA 30060: Convertible Details - 645965626 - Autotrader
Long-time lurker, first-time owner. Finally found a Coupe I like. Verde Goodwood, CC, 49k miles, chassis no. 08331. Such amazing value in these cars. Pretty sure the car has an aftermarket exhaust, but I cant determine which model. Has anyone seen this type before? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Someone please buy this. I do not need another 4200 Spyder manual, but I will be forced to buy it if the price stays to low. The 6 speeds are going for higher than GranSports lately, but they are all super cheap!! At the same time people are paying big bucks for bland much less rare sportcars on BAT daily. 574 made total worldwide. The buyer who I do not know copied my words from Mas life exactly. 2002 Maserati Spyder | eBay
It is the most troublesome MY for this car. I had a friend who had one and really hated it because of all the issues.
Was able to find owner #2 for my 02 Coupe, #8331. Pic is from 2011, local guy from Sugarland. He sold it a few years later to fund a California. I wonder who the first owner was? Allegedly it was traded in for a DB9 at Momentum Jag. Image Unavailable, Please Login
What is the story with this car? Specs? We have a red Spyder 6 speed manual in Norway. I delievred it to the first buyer. I believe it came from the US. Myself I had a 2002 Coupe Cambiocorsa in Blu Mediterraneo met. and beige... Loved that car. What a sound!! But horrendous fuel consumption and too high revs in 6th gear. It was about 25% more thirsty than my 550 Maranello. Fact! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They had one just like that in Ohio a month ago at a Toyota dealer that sold for $16,000.00 US!!! It had around 15,000 miles. The 6 speed GT's sell alot higher now, but still cheap. What a great car for the money.
The best is the engine and the design. I actually prefer the Cambiocorsa of my Coupe over that 6-speed manual. Is the manual also a transaxle like 456/550/575? I remember the gersshift of the 3200GT was more precise than the 4200 manual.
Cambio is the same gearbox and layout as the 6 speed, but without the poorly designed paddle F1 hydraulics and clutch system(same clutch as manual, but without the extra hydraulics). If they had only made real manual 6 speeds I bet 4200's would be double the price they are now. That said, the 6 speed has a rather high clutch pedal. But after you get used to it you will learn to like it, and it last much longer and is much less expensive to replace than the Cambio. Not to many mechanics can fix a Cambio either. Most that can are old Ferrari/Maserati dealers with the setup software.
Been around this site a little...have two of the 6MTs (03 Spyder, 04 Coupe) and have to say I have enjoyed owning and driving these more than any other car...
Finally got this back in my garage after fighting a Cambiocorsa issue for most of last year. Car now shifts and drives fantastically. Learned that the car goes into gear much smoother if you Rev match and even heel-toe. Love it! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
