Super early Daytona leaving the legendary Ristorante Gatto Verde (Green Cat) in the hills above Maranello in July 1969. In the 1960s, on the large terrace of the Gatto Verde restaurant, overlooking Maranello towards Modena, Ferrari usually held press conferences and new car presentations. Anybody said "wild"? Here's a Daytona in Boxer trim in Hamburg, Germany, late 1970s. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was merely (jokingly) referring to the exterior Red/Yellow paint color combo/scheme, which at the time (in the 1980s) was often associated with aforementioned societies and/or their perceived political standing. And where I come from, had someone painted their car or anything else in such combo, he/she would've promptly been outed for or at least suspected of supporting "Co**unism".
Can't say for sure not having the serial number and as repaint it could have started out as any color. The various blue 365 GTB/4's look very nice.
It is not in the Guikas sale. This one is not for sale, belongs to Guikas private collection that he will keep. He has a bunch of significant Ferrari comp cars that will not be sold. Marcel Massini
Interesting, that he would choose that car. Having watched its failed auctions attempts I have wondered if it was just the market talking or more the the story that I never knew. Thank you for your reply.
Too bad 15053 is no longer Verde Bahram but darkblue. It looked so good when I took this pic on the 16th August 1986 at the Nürburgring, Germany. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login

If you refer to pic in post 2592: that was taken in the factory paint dept at Maranello. They added the silver nose band. There was no such thing as "paint correction" back then. Marcel Massini
^ thanks. meant paint correction as in runs, drips etc in the paint. why wasnt silver nose done when first painted as now the headlight pods need to be removed to paint silver?
re the red presentation daytona in the hills, it appears that the rear reflector housings (below tail lights) are black and not chrome.
Correct, rear reflector housings are black. Not chromed. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
