    Thanks Marcel

I did wonder which car it was.

That’s why quite a few of the details are missing/ incorrect.

Euro front lens, Pini badge missing, cheap replacement rear lens without reflectors, I guess the classiche dept. are not used to doing RHD cars.

It did look pink in that light! pics are now and before being stolen

Hard to see from presented pictures, but it looks possibly having several other non-authentic or at least questionable details, although like the ones you mentioned, these don’t usually seem to be included in the scope of certification process anyway (assuming this has been through it).
I can only wonder whether these “details” (or modifications ?) are deliberate and by whom or why ?
    Just curious.

The guide told us all the cars in the Enzo museum at that time had been restored by Ferrari.

    Pretty common on UK cars.

I've always been fuzzy on whether these were fitted by Maranello Concessionaires or the factory; also have always had a similar question about the leather boot on the shifter in UK cars. Though it seems more likely to me that MC fitted them.

They present an interesting quandary for restorations, because even if they were not fitted at the factory, it seems likely that they were fitted at delivery to the customers...

+1 Completely agree Alex, but the nerf bar in the photograph doesn't follow the line of the leading edge of the bodywork. It appears to extend a few inches beyond it.

nice detail pic of the tail lights. some lights had a rubber gasket between the body and light housing.
the daytona body book shows a gasket required.
maybe the gaskets go missing during a repaint?

It looks to me like the bar is pretty "normal"; to my eyes, it only looks weird because the bumpers are mounted far out from the body (more like they would be in a 1973 car). Of course, given the vintage of the car, that bumper mounting seems wrong.

Personally, I've never thought those bars looked that bad, I even grabbed one when the opportunity presented itself. Would consider mounting it, if the cost to have it rechromed were not so scary...

Nerf bars were all the vogue back then. Never liked them on any car, besides, they did more damage than protect.

Hmmmm... what page are you referring to?

If Page 18, and assuming that one trusts Maranello Classic Parts interpretation of the body book, I think the gasket is the one that goes around the edge of the plastic lenses...

Not saying any didn't have them, but none of the original paint/unrestored examples I've seen, either in person or have reference photos of had.
OTOH, as I've pointed out before, this would be far from only case of discrepancy between factory literature and how Daytonas were actually or likely assembled at the Factory or Scaglietti plant.

Yep, they're like any other aftermarket add-on, bling or trinket people did or do put on their cars, be it curb feelers, plastic or stainless door & fender opening edge guards, CB radio/antenna or radar detector, chromed horsey plaque's or scuderia stickers, etc., all which are or have been in vogue one time or another. Nothing more, nothing less. Some like 'em, some don't.

I’m envious. I had to “suffer” 102 degrees while road testing an Oro Chiaro earlier today (sorry, no pix to share publicly), but now chilling in our backyard/garden with a nice cigar, a tequila and a wheat beer after a yummy Pakistani takeout meal.
