Well of course it's" extreme", but then again I've always been and no, I do not endorse or "want to go the 6-71 route". Just pointing out how I feel about these "fad" restomod upgrades and the slippery slope they present ... What's next ? Adding a backup camera, blue teeth & tits, CarPlay (?? Whatever the F that is ??), perimeter sensors or power steering to a Daytona or a Dino ? JFC ! While I've always been a old school "hot rodder" at heart, I prefer most, especially postwar (vintage) cars in their original design & engineering configuration. If the car came with bias-ply or XWX tires, that's important part of its appeal and feel to me.
You are right Timo, when I became the proud owner of an AR GT, it came with lowly Firestone "Cavallino" 165's on it and it would slide a lot better that with the XWX I later installed. Could never figure it out. Now I have. Indeed it is a slippery slope. Imagine, I still ski in my old 225's, (new bindings though), and all the young 'uns can't figure out why I am faster. What with their crappy 175 'shape skis'
Sorry if a repost, but the discussion of windshields, etc in another thread/topic reminded me of this. All the glass in the car and front of it produced by yours truly. Copyright TTR Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry if a re-post, but I just love how the red & green compliment each other. And please ignore the Borranis. P.S. I can't believe we did that paint over 20 years ago and it still looks like it was done last week. Copyright TTR Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool ! Note the flat black used in "black-out" sections, but difficult to see (in these images) if they got them all covered.
Yikes... To me it looks like two models that are in different scales. And to me, the Daytona a already a "big" car...
No photoshop etc. All genuine. Yes, the Purosangue is HUGE. All automobiles have massively grown/increased in the last fifty years. Marcel Massini
the real shocker is the Daytona next to the 12C. also a shocker, I bet the 12C feels smaller and more nimble when driving.
Not so sure about that; the 12 Cilindri is 85.7 inches wide vs 69.3 for the 365 GTB/4. FOR comparison the Daytona SP3 is 80.7 inches wide and the Purosangue is 79.8 inches wide. At 62.6 inches height the Purosangue towers above that 365 GTB/4 at 49.0 inches height as can be seen in Marcel's picture.
Perhaps it's just the photo & not that there's anything wrong with it, but the Daytona door looks much darker/different shade than rest of the car.
Some of the Daytona's I got in front of my camera Regards. Well, all that baseball/hockey/football/soccer/etc gear has to fit in. Isn’t that what Sports Utility Vehicles are intended/made for ? And like with SUVs, long after everyone else has already made them, perhaps Ferrari will someday finally join rest of the car/truck manufacturers and produce minivans, although with the sign of the times, they’ll probably make it electric and call it FEV ?
