As mentioned several times before already, the brochure car was 11795. It is in a collection in Northern California since about 20 years.

More importantly, does it get driven/used “as intended” often enough ? ;)

As said before, the S/N is 11795.
    Google has plenty of photos.

The show car 11795 has many different characteristics as it was built by Pininfarina. Perhaps also as a way to insure that the car would be completed in time for it's Paris debut. Note in the b&w picture there is no emblem in the front corner amber lens. Also straight ear KO wheel spinners are another detail.
One specific detail clearly seen in the color photographs is the unique black trim for the venti-pane side window. Also the roof line rear window and trunk/rear fenders are different from later production models. I call it the 7/8 scale Daytona.

This plexi 365 GTB/4 was imported into Toronto Canada in the early 1970's but the serial number is a question mark. The car was owned by David who had his personal plate DPS 365 on the car. This plate dates from the 1973 series but this picture I think I took in 1975. The serial number I believe is 13451.

Wood steering wheel and no headrests for the seats and possibly a blue interior? Can't say for sure now. These early Daytona models were legal in Canada unlike the USA market. Early non-smog 246 Dino models were also sold new in Canada to.

Appears also to be lacking windshield wipers* and feature numerous other detail variances, including the aforementioned front corner lenses being completely different (one-offs ?), etc...

    * Any period pictures of upper firewall/cowl area (with hood open) ?

Also, does anyone know which prototype(s) was/were used as a template(s) to create/fabricate production body assembly fixtures at Scaglietti plant ?

im pretty sure it has wipers. they were to be hidden under the hood which is easy to do with straight wiper arms. hidden wipers were popular on the new corvette in the same time period.

As per Marcel's suggestion this example provided by him shows the 'wipers' as being present here.

The interior for 11795 was done in very stylish colors as this brochure illustrates; compared to the other black & white pictures.

It sure would be very interesting to see all of the “hidden” construction details on these prototypes, especially of features that ended up not being used on production cars, to figure out why they weren’t.

Another example would be 12301 which is said to have an uncomfortable driving position...

The soft auction price achieved seemed to reflect that issue perhaps.

    ... said by whom ?
Has this been confirmed (unbiasedly) by comparing with a production model with all its "available" adjustments for pedals, seats and steering column ?
Or have the seats with their tracks + mounting and/or other related features in 12301 confirmed to be significantly different, not only by center cushion design, but by construction, etc ?

no hidden construction just the upsweep of the hood where the wipers would tuck in unseen.
this picture shows wiper arm is installed.

David who worked on that car. However I did not delve into the design characteristics and how they differed from other examples.
It was more in the form of a complaint than a scientific analysis.

Sorry Ed, but I wasn’t really referring to wipers with my “hidden construction” comment.
I’m also wondering about the 11795 vent window operating mechanism and related structural features, its trunk area coach work support structures, trunk floor reliefs for tailpipes, etc, etc, ... and what ever other design, mechanical or structural differences exist between prototypes and production models.
Like I said, I would find it interesting to figure out why some original/prototype features weren’t accepted for production and whether it was due to something other than costs.
