hoping the same in the US..at least the residuals. Was chatting with my dealer yesterday and they are still compiling the list but no $$ down yet. Fingers crossed on an early(ish) allocation.

Interesting to see that the auto press has said the usual expected stuff, but the at least one mainstream paper in the UK has given the car's looks a thumbs down

Ferrari 812 Superfast: the fastest Ferrari yet, but far from the most beautiful

Suppose, compared to the auto magazines, they have more room for being critical as their sales are less dependent on being given the next Ferrari to write about.

Spoke to my dealer in the UK who confirmed that they have stopped taking orders until they know more about their allocation. He said it was very possible that they may not even be able to fill all the orders taken so far.

like most designs....it will grow on people and quite fast I think. I already like it better after 2 days of looking at the renders. Photo's will be even better.

You are right. The car was stunning in the flesh at the preview. Need to get up close and personal to really appreciate the design.

Glad I ordered one just before the publicity.

BTW: really hope that the audio/speakers are at least "partially" acceptable being a GT :)

yeah, hope they offer something better than the F12 standard. Otherwise, i'll need to get ready to drop another £5k on the JBL rig - and that's hardly the quality you'd expect at that price.

Am I alone in thinking that this car actually looks like value? I said this about the F12 and got pilloried, but what comparable 800HP hyper GT car can you buy for this price?

My dealer said to expect a small (10% ish) increase. Which in my book makes it the horsepower bargain of the century so far....

What we are getting in hp vs wallet is nuts. Thank god for competition.

Just the fact that it will be the last and most powerful V12 aspirated, non hybrid and non turbo, is on it's own an asset despite of not having the Pininfarina badge. This car no doubt will have a very promising future value.

Disagree for the reasons I already posted. Standard depreciation for sure. Please don't buy to make money on it.

When I referred value in the short medium term was in the sense that the car will be historical for having an engine that's the most powerful aspirated one and representing the end of an era.
In the future when it becomes a classic those factors will definitely increase the car values.

All Ferrari's have value in the first year or so, after that they follow their depreciation route. The car with the most NA power will be the LE version(s) of this car. They will be the last and most powerful. This one will be the mid season one not having the last distinction nor the last PF distinction and produced in high volumes. My opinion, of course.

I agree it will grow on us. Everyone I know who has spent time with it say it does grow on you. I also have a feeling we are missing a lot of small details that probably work to refine the look and make it less harsh and, in the case of the rear end, probably a little bit less “Corvette”. I don't think we can really know how this all fits together, but I think the F12b will be the design more fondly remembered in the long run (20 years from now). But, thats a long time in the future!

Its hard to say these cars are a value, given the price of admission, but in a relative sense it is. You can't find anyone doing anything close in a front engine NA V12, and if you tried to do it yourself, you'd be spending several multiples of the asking price on an 812.

But isn't that most Italian cars? Ugly at first but you fall in love after a while. I'm starting to love it. With the F12B as the most beautiful I've ever seen. I hope this is the same way.

I'm even more excited now that the images are released
Knowing how they historically don't capture the in-person presence/gravitas, I'm sure it will be a stunner. What amazing bang for the buck.

Apologies if this was addressed earlier and I missed it:
does anyone have comments about the other wheel design?
I recall reading there were two at the preview and I'm curious how it compares to the set in the release images

Ferrari may make a last production year 812 Speciale as a send off. Sort of how the TDF was for the F12.

If they do, that car would be more collectible. Good luck getting a spot on that invitation only list.

(I'll be happy to just get the 812)
